Role Title Manager (Estimation Lead Manager )


Job Location Mumbai HO


Reporting to GM


Overview:

To lead the preparation of techno-commercial proposals, cost estimation, and bidding documentation for solar EPC projects, ensuring accurate and competitive bids aligned with market trends, client requirements, and organizational goals to drive business growth. Key Responsibilities/ Accountabilities Estimation & Costing  Prepare detailed cost estimates (CAPEX & OPEX) for solar EPC projects (utility-scale, rooftop, hybrid).  Analyze BOQs, tender documents, drawings, and technical specifications for cost inputs.  Build project costing models including civil, mechanical, electrical, SCADA, land, logistics, etc. 2. Tendering & Bid Management  Review and analyze tenders from government, private, and international clients.  Prepare and submit pre-qualification (PQ), RFQ, and RFP documents.  Coordinate with internal departments (design, procurement, execution) for inputs and risk analysis. 3. Vendor & Rate Benchmarking  Collect and analyze vendor/subcontractor quotations and market rates for materials, labor, and services.  Maintain updated price databases and cost benchmarks for various geographies. 4. Commercial Analysis & Strategy  Conduct project feasibility analysis (IRR, payback, cash flows) in coordination with finance teams.  Optimize pricing strategies to enhance competitiveness without compromising profitability.  Analyze competitor bids and pricing trends in solar EPC market. 5. Proposal Development  Prepare complete proposal documentation: technical offer, commercial offer, exclusions, deviations, and clarifications.  Present the final offer to senior management and support in client negotiations when required. 6. Cross-functional Coordination  Liaise with engineering, supply chain, project execution, and legal teams for proposal inputs and reviews.  Collaborate with project execution teams to obtain learnings from ongoing/completed projects. 7. Client Interaction & Support  Attend pre-bid meetings, client interactions, and technical discussions.  Respond to tender queries and prepare post-bid clarifications and revisions.


Role Demands (Travel) As and when required.


Qualification

B.E./B.Tech in Electrical / Mechanical MBA in Marketing / Finance (Added advantage)


Key Result Areas (KRA):

 Strong knowledge of solar EPC project components, costing, and execution methodology  Expertise in MS Excel (cost models), MS Project and proposal tools  Understanding of government & private sector tendering process (SECI, NTPC, DISCOMs, C&I)  Commercial acumen with attention to technical and financial details  Strong coordination, communication, and analytical skills  Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple bids simultaneously


Preferred Skills: 8 to 10 years of experience in estimation, costing, or proposal management Minimum 5 years in Solar EPC Projects (utility-scale / C&I)
