Expeditors satisfies the increasingly sophisticated needs of international trade through customized solutions and seamless, integrated information systems.We have an exciting opportunity to build a new team to advance our User Experience for our internally built software. The new User Experience Design System team is dedicated to driving consistency, efficiency and scalability across our operational applications. This team will be responsible for collaborating with project teams to create a unified, reusable design system which provides a positive user experience, streamlines front end development and ensures consistent behavior across our applications. To start, the team members will focus on the Deliver the exp.o Solutions initiative and the Customer Service Request epic.Over time, the vision for this team is that they will:
  • Create and maintain a shared design system by defining best practices for usage, versioning, and updates.
  • Establish a UI component library with a unified visual language and interaction model.
  • Foster collaboration between design and development across product teams.
  • Research, define, and curate which technology to use to meet the user experience and development requirements
As a Product Owner and Business Analyst, you will be responsible for shaping the direction and quality of the deliverables of this team. You will help drive the long-term vision, priorities and requirements as well as working across other teams in the department to share what is available and help them with adoption.
  • Roles and Responsibilities
  • Serve in a decision-making, leadership role on an Agile Scrum team as Product Owner
  • Build, refine, and prioritize team backlog in alignment with the program vision and roadmap
  • Draft specific team objectives for each sprint and program increment
  • Craft meaningful requirements that align stakeholder needs to capabilities
  • Clearly define story acceptance criteria and accept stories into the team backlog
  • Collaborate with other Product Owners and Business Stakeholders to resolve dependencies, coordinate efforts, and deliver cross-functional initiatives and technical enablers
  • Lead backlog grooming sessions to facilitate shared understanding of upcoming stories and acceptance criteria
  • Collaborate with across teams and leadership on requirements and priorities
  • Analyze and decompose complex business requirements to build software systems and influence design for testability and scalability
  • Participate in team demos, reviews and retrospectives with an eye toward continuous improvement
  • Prepare for and participate in ART activities, including PI Planning, System Demos, and Inspect and Adapt
Qualifications

Essential Experience

  • 2+ years of software business analysis experience
  • Proficiency with the system development lifecycle, including agile techniques and other methodologies
  • Proven interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively
  • Effective at navigating ambiguity and helping diverse teams drive towards clarity and consensus
  • Management of multiple and competing priorities
  • Ability to compose concepts, ideas, and designs into actionable/measureable deliverables
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication
  • Ability to recognize and mitigate risks
  • Driven, strong 'get it done' attitude
  • Certification or ability to become certified as a SAFe Product Manager/Product Owne

Preferred Experience

  • System or Data analysis experience
  • Working knowledge of the UML (Unified Modeling Language) with the ability to effectively communicate business requirements through Business Object Models, State Diagrams, and other UML diagrams
  • Understanding of the transportation/global logistics industry
  • Working knowledge of Office 2013 or above, Azure Dev Ops (VSTS/TFS), SharePoint
  • Passion for technology
  • Experience as a Product Owner for an Agile team
  • Experience working with Reference Data and/or Data Governance products
