Job Title: Business Analyst - Brokerage SME (BFSI)

Job Summary:

The Business Analyst with Brokerage SME expertise will act as a crucial link between business stakeholders and IT teams to gather, analyze, and document requirements specifically for brokerage operations within the BFSI sector. This role involves deep understanding of brokerage processes, regulatory requirements, risk management, and system workflows in financial services. The analyst will ensure that business needs are translated into effective technological solutions and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as Subject Matter Expert for brokerage domain in Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, compliance, risk, and IT teams to gather detailed business requirements focused on brokerage operations.
  • Analyze and document end-to-end brokerage trading workflows, including trade capture, order management, settlement, compliance checks, and risk controls.
  • Develop detailed Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs), user stories, and use cases for system enhancements or new implementations.
  • Conduct gap analysis and process improvement recommendations within brokerage functions.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by preparing test cases, coordinating with stakeholders, and validating outcomes against requirements.
  • Liaise between business and technical teams to ensure accuracy of delivered solutions.
  • Monitor regulatory changes impacting brokerage activities and update requirements accordingly.
  • Create dashboards, reports, and visualizations to provide insights on business performance related to brokerage.
  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and walkthroughs with stakeholders to validate requirements.
  • Work within Agile/Scrum frameworks to manage backlogs and sprint planning.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field. Advanced certifications (CBAP, CFA, or similar) are a plus.
  • 5-8 years of experience as a Business Analyst in BFSI, specifically with brokerage domain knowledge.
  • In-depth understanding of brokerage operations, securities trading lifecycle, compliance requirements, and market regulations.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Tableau, Power BI, or other BI/reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Ability to translate complex brokerage business needs into clear technical requirements.
  • Stakeholder management excellence with the ability to work across multiple teams.
