Battery Equipment Engineer

Karamtara is seeking an Equipment Engineer with a focus on the maintenance, optimisation, and improvement of manufacturing equipment used in battery module manufacturing. This role involves troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and collaborating with other teams to ensure smooth production.

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Equipment Qualification:

  Participate in manufacturing equipment discussions with Original Equipment Manufacturers and help qualify best-in-class manufacturing equipment for project needs. Define and confirm all related technical specifications and key performance indicators contractually to ensure adherence during FAT and SAT.

• Maintenance and Optimisation:

  Maintaining and optimising critical battery module manufacturing equipment, including laser systems, automated assembly equipment, metrology instruments, robotics, automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS) and automated guided vehicles (AGVs).

• Troubleshooting:

  Advanced troubleshooting of electro-mechanical systems, including robotics, PLCs, motion control, and pneumatics.

• Project Support:

  Providing project support for manufacturing line layouts, equipment upgrades and new machine installations, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.

• Modifications and Improvements:

  Designing and implementing equipment modifications and improvements, including upgrades to control systems, robotic handling, and other automation.

• Preventative Maintenance:

  Performing preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment across various process areas.

• Collaboration:

  Collaborating with other engineering teams to support and manage equipment upgrades and new manufacturing equipment installations.

• On-Duty Support:

  Handling on-duty and fundamental alarm troubleshooting.

• Installation and Qualification:

  Installing and qualifying new equipment according to the planned schedule.

• Problem Solving:

  Proactively identifying and resolving equipment issues to minimise downtime and maximise production.

• Compliance:

  Ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

• Data Analysis:

  Adept with data analysis and proficient in problem-solving.

• Documentation:

  Writing reports and maintaining records.

Requirements:

• B.E. / B. Tech / M.E. / M. Tech in Electrical / Electronics / Mechatronics Engineering or related field.
• Strong understanding of battery module manufacturing equipment, automated storage and retrieval systems, automated guided vehicles, and robotics.
• Proficiency in designing manufacturing line layouts to optimise workflow efficiency and cost.
• Experience in the design release process, including equipment design and upgrades, testing, validation, and documentation.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements for manufacturing equipment in battery module manufacturing.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
