About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned

Backend Engineer

with expertise in

Node.js

and

JavaScript

to join our dynamic engineering team. As a Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable and robust backend systems that power our core products. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code.You will collaborate closely with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, and product managers to develop APIs, improve performance, and ensure that our systems run smoothly, securely, and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

🔹

Backend System Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain server-side logic using Node.js and related frameworks.
  • Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices to support frontend and third-party integrations.
  • Write reusable, testable, and efficient code, ensuring best practices in software development.

Database Management

  • Work with both SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis) databases.
  • Design data models and schemas that are optimized for performance and scalability.
  • Implement caching, indexing, and other performance enhancements.

API Design & Integration

  • Create and manage APIs for internal and external use.
  • Ensure seamless integration between frontend and backend systems.
  • Monitor API performance and conduct troubleshooting when needed.

Security & Performance Optimization

  • Implement security and data protection best practices (JWT, OAuth, encryption, etc.).
  • Optimize application performance through profiling, benchmarking, and code refactoring.

Collaboration & Deployment

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (frontend, product, QA, DevOps) to deliver high-quality features.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Work with CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment and testing processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 4+ years of backend development experience with a strong focus on Node.js and JavaScript.
  • Proficiency in building RESTful APIs and working with microservices architectures.
  • Strong understanding of asynchronous programming, event-driven architecture, and middleware handling in Node.js.
  • Experience with Express.js, NestJS, or similar Node.js frameworks.
  • Solid knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and system design.
  • Experience with Git, version control workflows, and collaborative development.
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.
  • Good understanding of testing tools like Mocha, Chai, Jest, or similar.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • Knowledge of GraphQL, WebSockets, or message brokers like RabbitMQ/Kafka.
  • Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience integrating with third-party services (payment gateways, SMS/email providers, etc.).
