Automation Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement automation systems to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality.
• Program and configure PLCs, human–machine interfaces, motion controllers, and industrial robots.
• Integrate sensors, actuators, control systems and vision systems to ensure seamless integration.
• Conduct troubleshooting, debugging, and optimisation of control systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional design teams (mechanical, electrical, software, and production) for project execution.
• Perform system testing, validation, and documentation for automation projects.
• Support installation, commissioning, and maintenance of automation equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations.
• Continuously research and adopt emerging automation and robotics technologies.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, Robotics, Embedded Systems, or related fields.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on industrial experience in automation/mechatronics projects.
• Good understanding of mechatronic systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical control systems.
• Experience in industrial sensors, actuators, pneumatics, and servo/motion control.
• Proficiency in PLC programming & SCADA (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Beckhoff, or similar).
• Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of safety standards (ISO, CE, IEC, OSHA) related to robotics and automation.
• Willingness to learn, explore, and passion for hands-on work and automation.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, startup-like environment and effectively support the team.
• Proactively identify and propose solutions to technical challenges.
• Strong problem-solving mindset and curiosity to tinker with hardware.

• Good to Have (Bonus Skills)

• Knowledge of Python, C/C++, or MATLAB for PC-based control interface.
• Exposure to IoT, Industry 4.0, and ROS (Robot Operating System).
• Familiarity with CAD or mechanical integration workflows.
• Experience in machine vision systems (Cognex, Keyence, OpenCV).
• Hands-on with additive manufacturing, cobots, or mobile robots (AMRs/AGVs).
