About the Role We are looking for a passionate, driven, and curious Embedded Systems Engineer Intern to join our core team working on the 3D Bioprinter project. You will contribute directly to designing and programming the control systems, integrating electronics with mechanical systems, and helping automate the bioprinting workflow via computer-based control applications. This is a unique opportunity to work on highly impactful real-world product development projects, from firmware programming to hardware testing, at the intersection of embedded systems, biomedical engineering, and automation. Key Responsibilities Assist in developing and testing firmware for controlling stepper motors, sensors, limit switches, heaters, and actuators for prototyping. Collaborate with the mechanical engineering team to integrate hardware and Software control systems to ensure seamless integration. Assist in developing a PC-based control and monitoring interface for the printer (using Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW). Participate in basic PCB assembly, testing, and system-level debugging, and Calibration of the printer. Support the team in building and maintaining functional prototypes and documenting code, wiring diagrams, test protocols, and results. Required Skills & Qualifications Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics, Embedded Systems, or related fields. Basic knowledge of C/C++ and experience with embedded platforms like Arduino. Understanding of basic electronic components (resistors, sensors, motor drivers, etc.), circuit design, and debugging tools like multimeters. Willingness to learn, explore, and passion for hands-on work, prototyping, and automation. Ability to work in a fast-paced, startup-like environment and effectively support the team. Ability to read and understand circuit diagrams and datasheets. Strong problem-solving mindset and curiosity to tinker with hardware. Proactively identify and propose solutions to technical challenges Good to Have (Bonus Skills) Knowledge of Python or MATLAB for PC-based control interface. Experience with Git or PCB design tools. Familiarity with CAD or mechanical integration workflows. A basic understanding of automation or robotics is a big plus. We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Electronics Department, demonstrating expertise in embedded firmware development and a solid understanding of hardware electronics development. In this role, you will oversee and guide both firmware and hardware teams, closely collaborating with clients to comprehend requirements, segment them into actionable tasks, and assign responsibilities. Your hands-on experience in firmware development is crucial, along with the capability to contribute to hardware development at a fundamental to intermediate level. Additionally, you will identify and resolve resource or expertise gaps within the team to ensure smooth project execution. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, and testing embedded software for IoT devices utilizing microcontrollers such as STM32, ESP32, among others. You will implement wireless communication protocols like BLE, LoRa, Wi-Fi, and 4G LTE for data acquisition and transmission, as well as communication protocols like SPI, I2C, UART, RS485, RS232, CAN, and more. Managing the entire Electronics Department, including firmware and hardware teams, will be under your purview. Understanding client project requirements, breaking them down into firmware and hardware tasks, and assigning responsibilities accordingly will also be part of your role. You will evaluate the time and cost required for tasks in firmware and hardware domains, contribute to various stages of the firmware development lifecycle, collaborate effectively with engineers from different disciplines, and proactively propose solutions to technical challenges. Hands-on involvement in hardware development at a basic to intermediate level, including schematic design, PCB design review, and hardware debugging, is expected.
