Job Description

As a Mechanical Engineer in this role, you will be responsible for designing, prototyping, and developing mechanical components and systems integral to the product. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams spanning product development, electronics, biology, materials, and manufacturing to drive the project from concept to implementation. Additionally, you will take a leadership role in building and managing the mechanical engineering team, ensuring the successful delivery of innovative solutions that meet and exceed product expectations. This position requires adaptability and a proactive approach to integrating cutting-edge mechanical design principles into a transformative 3D fabrication system. **Responsibilities:** - Lead the design and development of the 3D printer machine from concept to completion. - Collaborate with international experts from various fields, including biology, material science, and electronics, to ensure the machine meets project requirements. - Oversee the implementation of manufacturing processes to produce the machine. - Analyze and apply principles of fluid dynamics and microscale fabrication to enhance machine functionality. - Optimize the machine with automation features with an easy-to-use interface. - Use CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) to create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings, incorporating prototyping capabilities. - Identify opportunities for design optimization, cost reduction, and performance enhancements, with a focus on manufacturability. Manage both mechanical-specific tasks and interdisciplinary projects, ensuring smooth integration across departments. **Qualifications:** - Bachelors, Masters, or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, or a related field. - Minimum of 3 years of industrial experience in relevant areas. - Strong expertise in CAD design, manufacturing standards, and 3D prototyping. - Knowledge and practical experience in manufacturing processes. - Strong understanding of fluid dynamics and microscale fabrication. - Experience in the 3D printing or biofabrication industry is a significant advantage. - Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and articulate technical and non-technical information clearly. - Experience with rapid prototyping techniques, including additive manufacturing, traditional manufacturing, and machining technologies. - Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards relevant to product design and development is a plus.,
