Role Summary
The
Project Manager (IT / Software)
will be responsible for
planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery
of technology initiatives under the
iGOT Karmayogi
platform.The role requires strong project management skills, stakeholder coordination, and experience handling
large-scale digital transformation programs
involving multiple vendors and teams. The incumbent will ensure delivery excellence, adherence to timelines, budget control, and compliance with government IT governance standards.
Key Roles And Responsibilities
- Plan, manage, and oversee end-to-end software delivery for assigned iGOT Karmayogi projects.
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success metrics in line with program goals.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocation using Agile and hybrid models.
- Coordinate with internal teams (Product, Engineering, DevOps, QA, Operations) and external vendors.
- Conduct regular sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives; track progress using JIRA.
- Identify project risks and issues, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure timely resolution.
- Manage project budgets, monitor expenditures, and validate milestones for invoice approvals.
- Prepare and present project progress reports, dashboards, and performance summaries to stakeholders.
- Maintain project documentation, approvals, and change logs in Confluence and other repositories.
- Ensure adherence to ISO, security, and quality standards as applicable to the iGOT Karmayogi program.
- Drive process improvement, efficiency, and adoption of project management best practices.
Education
BE/BTech
, Information Technology, or related discipline.
Experience
- 6 years of overall experience with at least 4 years in IT Project / Program Management.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale digital or e-Governance projects.
- Strong background in Agile / Scrum, hybrid methodologies, and multi-vendor coordination.
Technical & Tools Proficiency
- Hands-on experience with JIRA, Confluence, MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with cloud environments (GCP), DevOps, and CI/CD workflows.
- Basic understanding of API-driven systems, software architecture, and security frameworks.
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Preferred / Desirable Skills
- PMP / PRINCE2 / Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP) certification.
- Experience working with Government of India programs
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 / ISO 27001 compliance, risk management, and IT governance processes.
- Exposure to open-source platforms, analytics, and user engagement systems.
