Role Overview

IPE Global is seeking a dynamic Associate/Deputy Manager to drive the Business Development (BD) efforts of its Climate Change and Sustainability (CCS) Practice. The role involves market research, opportunity tracking, proposal development, and client/partner engagement, with a primary focus on supporting end-to-end BD processes and managing submissions on e-procurement portals of bilateral, multilateral, and government agencies. The position requires preparing clear and compliant responses, generating market intelligence, and contributing to CCS’s growing portfolio of impactful programmes.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development (70%)

• Identify business opportunities across India, South Asia, and Africa by developing leads and engaging with potential donors.
• Lead proposal management, including action planning, budgeting, partner coordination, and preparation of high-quality technical and financial submissions.
• Track sectoral trends, conduct outreach, and present market intelligence reports.
• Support communications, donor meetings, and development of collaterals.
• Ensure periodic reporting of progress and achievement of BD targets.

Programme Management (20%)

• Support/lead partner, consultant, and staff identification.
• Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely and quality deliverables.
• Maintain strong relationships with donors and clients.
• Manage project reporting, budgeting, work planning, and operational backstopping.

Thought Leadership (10%)

• Represent IPE Global at events, contribute to external communications, and collaborate with corporate communications for sector visibility.
• Develop content including policy notes, research publications, and evidence papers showcasing CCS expertise.

Qualifications & Experience

• Master’s in Environment Studies, Energy Studies, Resource Economics, International Development, or related field with at least 7 years of relevant experience.
• Minimum 4–5 years in programme management, knowledge management, or communication within Climate Finance; 4+ years in international organisations/IGOs required.
• Strong background in financial services, management consulting, or development finance institutions.
• Knowledge of banking, capital markets, and/or insurance regulations is mandatory; familiarity with energy transition and public finance in India preferred.
• Proven ability to prepare winning proposals for bilateral/multilateral agencies and foundations.
• Experience engaging with governments, donors, and private sector stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
