Job Summary:
Research, plan, design and develop mechanical and/or electromechanical products and systems for production, testing, and deployment. May evaluate and analyze various mechanical products to determine their cost-effectiveness and efficiency. Will be involved in CAD-based design and product definition.

Desired Skills:
- Experience in understanding the mechanical design intent, functions, and compliance.
- Sound knowledge of manufacturing processes, casting, machining, materials, finishes.
- Experience in the generation of 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings (fabrication assemblies, mechanical and electromechanical assemblies, top levels).
- Experience in generation of Design concepts using tools like Pro/E (CREO), CATIA V5 and Unigraphics NX.
- Ability to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders (operations, testing, electrical, supply chain etc.).
- Good understanding of any PLM/PDM software.
- Design knowledge through usage of DFM, DTC and understanding of Value Engineering by having the ability to make use of standard parts and vendor management.
- Sound knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Must also possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple assignments.
Good to Have:
- Experience in Test racks and rigs, Test fixtures, cable harness design, Line replacement unit design and electronics packaging will be an added advantage.
- Experience in structural and thermal analysis will be an added advantage.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design mechanical and electromechanical products as per the requirements defined by customers, guidelines, and industry standards.
- Follow design to cost and design for manufacturing approaches.
- Work with cross-functional teams and other program stakeholders to mature the designs, participate in design reviews.
- Follow product specific workflow, guidelines, and standards.
- Adopt to the configuration management environment as per the PLM used.
- Work on initial designs and revisions.
