We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director - Data Science and Analytics!

This position will be a leader within the global Enterprise Data Analytics & Product Management organization. The successful candidate will be highly collaborative, technically savvy, and passionate about delivering insights with data and driving operational decision-making across the enterprise.

It is an excellent opportunity to directly contribute to the successes of P&W and ensure our future competitive edge through successful execution of key tasks associated with the expansion of the P&W India Digital Capability Center (IDCC), Data & Analytics talent development, and task execution oversight.

The leader of Data & Analytics acts as an analytical thought leader and a key member of the IDCC leadership team. They will serve as the direct line supervisor for a team of data science, analytics, and engineering specialists. The position requires a leader with extraordinary customer focus, strong technical acumen, outstanding critical thinking ability, and crisp communication skills to build, support and guide the team to meet aggressive program demands.

What You will do

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead IDCC Data Science & Analytics portfolio that delivers AI/ML and advanced analytics solutions for aerospace & defense use cases such as predictive maintenance, fleet readiness, supply chain resilience, and mission planning.
• Own IDCC strategy, roadmap, and execution of data science initiatives from ideation through production, ensuring measurable impact on safety, reliability, cost, and on-time delivery.
• Build and lead IDCC team of data scientists, ML engineers, and analysts across onshore and offshore locations, fostering a “one global team” culture.
  • Design, develop and deploy state-of-the-art, data-driven predictive/descriptive models to solve business and engineering problems using the latest and most appropriate technologies

  • Manage, architect and analyze relevant data to build data driven business insights and high impact predictive models to generate significant business value.
  • Lead the team to define, prototype, test, deploy and monitor machine learning and statistical models to provide predictions and forecasts.
  • Understand and recommend appropriate Machine Learning/Data Analytics methods and software solutions.
  • Work with the app development team to integrate predictive and prescriptive models into our tools.
  • Manage staffing requirements and ensure adherence to P&W’s Digital Technology procedures.

Basic Qualifications:

• B.E in Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics with 20+ years prior relevant engineering experience OR Advanced Degree in Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics with and 18+ years prior relevant engineering experience.
• 10+ years in data science / advanced analytics, with 10+ years leading teams in the successful execution of tasks to meet technical, schedule and budget requirements. Experience in aerospace, defense, or othr safety-/mission-critical industries strongly preferred.
• Proven track record delivering AI/ML solutions into production that improved operational KPIs (e.g., downtime, yield, turnaround time, cost per flight hour).
• Demonstrated ability to build, develop and manage high performing team to deliver business impact witeh track record, particularly in a cross-functional and multi-stakeholder environments.
• Experience managing a team, including individual goal setting, performance management, and talent development.
• Strong technical and strategic leadership skills
• Previous supervisory experience managing groups of Data professionals (Data Engineers, Data Analysts, Data Scientists, etc.)
• Experience working in a matrixed organization
• Experience working in an agile environment.
• Experience with technology stack for the full lifecycle of data & AI solutions (AI factory)
• Experience with SDLC, DevOps, MLOps

• Strong understanding of AI risk management framework in the context of development and deployment of responsible and reliable AI solutions
• Demonstrated effectiveness in working across functions, organizations, and all levels of management.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Able to adapt, manage and lead in an uncertain environment.
• Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Demonstrated experience in driving strategic analytics/AI initiatives and value realization from programs. Experience in acting as translator between business needs and pain points and technical requirements and solutions.
• in acting interpersonal skills with the ability to cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated experience in fostering collaboration and driving alignment across varied teams.
• A deep understanding of business drivers, organizational dynamics, and industry trends in data science and analytics.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Broad understanding of gas turbine engine fundamentals and associated components.
• Experience standing up new teams and building a positive professional culture.
• Experience developing PowerBI/Qlik dashboards/AI-ML Models
• In depth knowledge and experience in Data Governance, Architecture and Platforms
• Strong learner, ready to adapt to new frameworks and technologies
