Assistant Operations Manager

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Manager – Returnable Packaging Operations to support and optimize our returnable packaging lifecycle. The role involves managing packaging assets, ensuring timely circulation between suppliers and plants/customers, and improving operational efficiency in line with sustainability and cost objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Returnable Packaging Management:

• Monitor and manage end-to-end returnable packaging cycle (e.g., bins, crates, pallets, racks, totes).
• Track packaging movement and ensure accurate inventory levels.
• Collaborate with logistics, warehouse, suppliers, and manufacturing teams to coordinate timely returns and dispatches.

Operations Support:

• Maintain packaging fleet availability at all nodes of the supply chain.
• Optimize packaging routes to reduce lead times and logistics cost.
• Identify and eliminate packaging bottlenecks across the supply chain.

Process & Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with packaging SOPs, quality checks, and safety standards.
• Work on packaging return failure analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure adherence to environmental and sustainability guidelines related to reusable packaging.

Data & Reporting:

• Monitor key KPIs: turn-around time, packaging loss/damage rate, asset utilization.
• Generate and present packaging performance reports to senior management.

Continuous Improvement:

• Support packaging design changes and new implementation projects.
• Participate in cost-saving and lean initiatives involving packaging.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong understanding of supply chain logistics and returnable packaging systems.
• Proficient in MS Excel, ERP tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and WMS platforms.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple customers.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Pay: From ₹30,000.00 per month
