Assistant Engineer

Job Purpose:

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in routine maintenance and repairs of electrical systems and components to ensure smooth operations.
• Support the implementation of preventive maintenance schedules and ensure adherence.
• Troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, and automation issues promptly under supervision to minimize downtime.
• Assist in maintaining and optimizing PLCs, HMIs, SCADA and other automation systems for critical equipment.
• Support root cause analysis of breakdowns and help implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Maintain records of maintenance activities, spare usage and ensure proper documentation for audits and compliance.
• Assist in monitoring energy consumption and implement minor efficiency improvement measures.
• Collaborate with vendors and OEMs for technical support, spares and services as required.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education: Diploma in Electrical / Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering
• Experience: Minimum 4 years experience in electrical maintenance
• Exposure to maintenance and commissioning of forging presses and heat treatment furnaces is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with HT, LT and instrumentation systems is desirable

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Good understanding of electrical systems, industrial automation, and instrumentation.
• Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and VFDs.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving aptitude.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Awareness of safety standards and regulatory compliance in industrial environments.
