Job Description

Position : Area Sales Manager –APC (Air Pollution Control)

Location – Bangalore

Reports to : Regional Sales Manager


Functional and operational manager cooperates in all questions regarding recruiting, hiring, promoting, terminating and compensation. However, it is the operational manager who then implement the decisions and runs the daily operations.


Job Summary and Key Objectives

The ideal candidate will be responsible for sales performance with the goal of expanding our company's market share. His collaborative nature will help him succeed when coordinating with external distributors and internal sales and marketing teams


Role priorities

  • Total Sales Revenue Air Pollution Control & Other Segments as per business.
  • Achieve or exceed annual plan through the generation of new business sales and improved retention of existing business.
  • Collaborate with Customers Service, Projects & Application, Engineering and manufacturing to ensure business requirements are met.
  • Communicating and collaborating with Regional Manager on requirements of local business to ensure continues business stability and growth.
  • Follow standard work prescribed in the sales play book.
  • Grow new customers and expand existing customer business.
  • Prepare offers, technical discussions, negotiations, follow up on enquiries.
  • Consistent track record of achieving sales targets in a highly dynamic environment.
  • Responsible to develop new distributors and manage the sales for the distributors in the Area


Know-how (Education, Work Experience and Business knowledge)

  • 4 – 6 years of relevant experience in sales and distributor management (APC Experience is Mandatory like Dust Collectors)
  • B.Tech (Mechanical)
  • Additional Degree in business management would be preferred


Skills (Problem-solving requirements, people skills requirements)

  • Strong Engineering knowledge
  • Strategic & Commercial Business Acumen
  • Strong communications skills
  • Good interpersonal and effective communication (both oral and written) skills.
  • Excellent customer rapport and networking skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills, able to convince strongly and comfortably interact with all levels of an organization.
  • High degree of analytical and problem solving skills, with an application and technical bent of mind. Able to liaise effectively both internally as well as with customers to derive effective solutions related to products, applications and closure of orders.

  • Direct Interaction with clients
  • Product presentations
  • Price negotiations and closure of techno-commercial decisions.
  • Offer preparations
  • Tenders/contracts signing
