Job Responsibilities

Strategic

:

  • Development and implementation of the commercial strategy for the air freight product in India
  • Service provider management and development to support the best-in-class service procurement
  • Best in class response to RFQs and RFIs.
  • Fully complaint operation.

Tactical:

Operations

  • Develop and execute operational plan to achieve business objectives .
  • Drive operational efficiency to ensure business performance improvement .
  • Support & guide sale operation team .
  • Prepare , execute , monitor and update on regular basis the business plan .
  • skill and knowledge to obtain co-operation and support from major origin and gateways is the focal point .
  • Develop excellent relation with carrier , vendor , local authorities .
  • Monitor and improve departmental productivity indicators
  • Instill and foster climate of consistent and complete compliance
  • Focus on digitalization and other creative solution for improved efficiency and accuracy
  • regularly read and review business and trade journals and attend industry events to further market and industry knowledge .
  • Adherence to Data integrity KPIs.

Customers:

  • actively support sales and customer retention , regularly meet customers to understand their expectations and aligning solutions to cater their needs .
  • complete 8-10 sales and/or retention calls per month .
  • act as they key sponsor for at least 2 customers to grow business with them for all products and services .
  • pro-actively provide pricing alternatives , routing solutions and technical assistance to customers.
  • work with teams & guide them for timely response on proposal , quotation or information and with market competitive pricing .
  • Growing export business .

Finance

  • monthly review P&L , productivity results and goals .
  • review and achieve the planned product net revenue and yield .
  • support airfreight team in development of their tactical business plan .

People

:
  • Provide training and guidance for competency enhancement .
  • Identify , develop and coach the team and country level .
  • Ensure that all airfreight team have job description and clear expectations and working with structured development plan .
  • Guidance on industry and market developments to leaders , sales and operations .
  • Delivery of the required training to the sales and operations .
  • Review and participate on airfreight operation appraisals

Compliance :

  • promote compliance in diligently following all the company policies and procedure and be the role model of integrity and pride of all employees .
  • proactively communicate with the team to ensure continuance awareness and understanding of policies and procedure .
  • support and implement all compliance initiatives , changes and trainings .

Culture

:
  • Proactively promote the company’s culture attributes

System

:
  • To implement new system changes and enhancement into airfreight department .
  • To be involved and suggest system / process improvement .
Job Requirements

Qualifications/Experience

  • Expert on all aspects of air products within depth knowledge of the India market
  • Graduate from IATA / FIATA introductory course ( preferred )
  • Minimum 8 years of market knowledge and deep expertise in air freight product (not only from an operational perspective but also commercial )
  • 3-5 years experience in managerial position.
  • Air freight market exposure in India market.
  • Fluent in English – in all forms of communication
  • Proficiency in organizing, planning, prioritizing, assigning and controlling shipments;
  • Good interpersonal skills with different kind of cultures and people;
  • Must have a charismatic and confident personality as well as an exceptional work ethic.
