Accountant

Job Description Position: Accountant Department: Finance & Accounts Location: AGRA Role Overview: The Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, maintaining compliance with statutory requirements, and supporting the finance team in achieving organizational goals. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a clear understanding of accounting principles. Key Responsibilities: Maintain accurate books of accounts (general ledger, journals, vouchers, and supporting documents). Prepare and post journal entries, reconcile accounts, and perform month-end/year-end closing activities. Manage accounts payable and receivable, including vendor reconciliation and customer outstanding follow-ups. Prepare financial statements, MIS reports, and management dashboards. Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory requirements. Assist in audits (internal, statutory, tax) and coordinate with auditors. Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Monitor cash flows, bank reconciliations, and fund requirements. Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation records. Ensure timely payroll processing and related compliances (PF, ESI, PT, etc.), if applicable. Support process improvements in accounting systems, controls, and reporting. Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce / Accounting / Finance (CA Inter, M.Com, MBA Finance preferred). Proven experience of 2–5 years as an Accountant (experience in [your industry] preferred). Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and taxation laws. Proficiency in accounting software (Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, SAP, or ERP systems). Strong MS Excel and data analysis skills. Good communication and coordination skills.
