Quality Control Engineer

Key Responsibilities: 1. Surface Treatment & Coating Quality Monitor and inspect pre-treatment, anodizing, and powder coating processes. Conduct chemical testing of baths and ensure compliance with coating specifications. Maintain logs of pH, conductivity, temperature, and other critical chemical parameters. Ensure compliance with Qualicoat, ISO, or other relevant coating standards. 2. Quality Inspection & Material Control Inspect aluminium profiles, glass, gaskets, sealants, and façade system components. Perform visual, dimensional, and adhesion (cross-hatch) testing of finished parts. Verify raw material quality through TCs, MSDS, and incoming inspections. Control and document batch-wise quality results of all coated products. 3. Chemical Lab & Testing Management Operate and maintain lab equipment for titration, spectrometry, and corrosion testing. Calibrate and validate chemical testing instruments periodically. Analyze coating failures, stains, or corrosion, and recommend corrective action. 4. Documentation & Compliance Prepare and maintain QC records, coating logs, ITPs, and inspection reports. Ensure all processes comply with ISO 9001, 14001, and relevant environmental norms. Maintain SDSs and ensure chemical safety and proper storage as per MSDS guidelines. 5. Process Audit & Quality Improvement Conduct internal audits for chemical processes and plant hygiene. Implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) for recurring coating issues. Coordinate with production for root cause analysis (RCA) and process improvement. 6. Team Coordination & Training Supervise QC technicians involved in coating line inspections. Provide training on coating quality, safety procedures, and inspection methods. Coordinate with vendors, applicators, and production teams on quality issues. Required Qualifications & Skills: Diploma / B.Sc. / B.Tech in Chemical Engineering or Industrial Chemistry. 5+ years of experience in QC of aluminium surface treatment or façade systems. Strong knowledge of anodizing, powder coating, and chromating processes. Familiarity with coating standards like QUALICOAT, ISO 2813, ASTM D3359. Ability to use coating thickness gauges, gloss meters, salt spray chambers. Proficient in documentation, reporting, and inspection methodologies. Understanding of environmental and chemical safety protocols. "Salary will be decided based on candidate's skills and performance in the interview."
