About the Role

Workato Developer

Key Responsibilities

Architect, design, and implement scalable integrations using
Workato recipes, SDK, and connectors
.
Collaborate with business teams, IT, and stakeholders to translate functional needs into robust technical solutions.
Develop and maintain
custom connectors
using
Workato SDK
(Node.js, HTTP, JSON).
Integrate enterprise applications like
Salesforce, NetSuite, SAP, Workday, ServiceNow, Microsoft 365, and Slack
.
Monitor and optimize recipe performance with effective
error handling, logging, and security best practices
.
Enforce
integration governance
, including recipe lifecycle management,
CI/CD pipelines
, and
version control (Git)
.
Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, conducting root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
Prepare and maintain
technical documentation
, including architecture diagrams and deployment guides.
Mentor junior team members and perform
code reviews
to uphold development standards.
Stay ahead of new
Workato features
and emerging integration technologies to drive automation excellence.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in
Computer Science, IT, or related field
(or equivalent professional experience).
5+ years
of professional integration experience, with
5+ years dedicated to Workato
development.
Proven expertise across domains such as
healthcare, finance, e-commerce, or insurance
.
Hands-on experience with other iPaaS tools (
MuleSoft, Boomi, Zapier, Tray.io
) is a plus.
Workato certifications
(Automation Pro II/III, Integration Specialist) strongly preferred.

Required Skills

Deep proficiency in
Workato platform
: recipes, triggers, actions, SDK, GEARS, and AOF frameworks.
Strong understanding of
REST/SOAP APIs, webhooks, OAuth2, JWT
, and security standards.
Proficient in scripting languages (
JavaScript, Python, or Ruby
) for data transformation and logic automation.
Experience handling data formats (
JSON, XML, CSV
) and implementing ETL processes with encryption and compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, PII).
Solid grasp of
SQL databases, cloud storage
, and
API testing tools
(Postman, Swagger).
Knowledge of
Agile methodologies
,
CI/CD pipelines
, and
Git-based version control
.
