The Website Manager will serve as the strategic and operational owner of the university’s website ecosystem. This role requires strong CMS expertise—specifically in Drupal—and the ability to collaborate with external website development and maintenance vendors. The Website Manager will ensure the website is updated, secure, user-friendly, and aligned with the university’s brand, marketing goals, and digital strategy. The candidate will be responsible for content governance, performance reporting, SEO oversight, UX coordination, and ensuring seamless day-to-day website
operations.
1. Strategic Website Oversight
- Own the website roadmap aligned with marketing and admissions priorities.
- Plan and manage rollout of new features, enhancements, and content structures.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and prioritise updates.
2. Website Content Strategy & Management
- Maintain content governance across all pages.
- Oversee content creation, editing, and publishing workflows on Drupal.
- Ensure content follows brand guidelines, accessibility standards, and tone.
- Conduct periodic content audits.
3. Vendor Collaboration & Project Management
- Act as primary point of contact for website development/maintenance vendor.
- Ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
- Manage SLAs, quality checks, and release cycles.
- Maintain documentation for all updates.
4. Website Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Track analytics using GA4, Search Console, and other dashboards.
- Analyse user behaviour, page performance, and conversions.
- Prepare monthly insight-driven performance reports.
5. Product & Project Management
- Manage backlogs, requirements, and UAT processes.
- Drive improvements for UX, navigation, and site speed.
6. Security, Compliance & Website Upkeep
- Oversee uptime, backups, patches, and security updates with vendor/IT.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy and secure form handling.
- Conduct periodic SEO, security, and site health audits.
7. SEO & Discoverability (Preferred)
- Support on-page and technical SEO improvements.
- Ensure alignment between paid campaigns and landing pages.
- Monitor keyword rankings and fix indexation issues.
- 4–8 years experience in website management or digital operations.
- Hands-on Drupal CMS experience (mandatory).
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, UX basics, hosting, and tracking.
- Experience managing external vendors.
- Familiarity with GA4, Search Console, and SEO fundamentals.
- Strong project management and stakeholder communication skills.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical briefs.
- Experience in higher education or multi-stakeholder environments.
- Understanding of marketing funnels and landing page optimisation.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and UX practices.
- Strong ownership and accountability.
