Role Summary

The Vice President – Business Development will provide strategic and operational leadership to the sales organization across India, driving revenue growth, building enterprise relationships, and expanding the company’s market presence. The role is responsible for shaping the sales strategy, strengthening customer engagement, and leading a high-performing sales team to consistently deliver on business goals.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Revenue Leadership

• Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with organizational growth priorities.

• Drive predictable and sustainable revenue outcomes through structured planning and strong market positioning.

• Define monthly and quarterly sales objectives supported by disciplined pipeline and forecast management.

• Establish robust processes to forecast, track, and review sales performance and commercial outcomes.

Team Leadership & Capability Development

• Lead and mentor a team of sales managers and specialists to achieve high performance.

• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

• Provide guidance on talent development, coaching, and effective people leadership practices.

• Champion performance management and employee engagement across the sales organization.

Large Deal Pursuits & Strategic Negotiation

• Lead senior-level customer engagements, negotiations, and deal shaping for complex opportunities.

• Collaborate with presales, delivery, and other business leaders to create winning and profitable solutions.

• Strengthen go-to-market effectiveness via competitive insights and customer intelligence.

Cross-functional Collaboration & Customer Success

• Partner with delivery, operations, and product/service teams to ensure exceptional customer outcomes.

• Advocate on behalf of the customer while aligning internal functions to address requirements and market needs.

• Lead retention, expansion, and relationship growth initiatives within key accounts.

Governance, Data & Market Insights

• Implement disciplined CRM and reporting mechanisms to enhance visibility and decision support.

• Assess market trends, risks, and opportunities to evolve sales strategy and execution focus.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Extensive experience leading regional or national sales in IT Services, Software Solutions, and/or BPO/Shared Services environments.

• Strong background in enterprise consultative selling and managing complex pursuits.

• Well-developed network across relevant industry verticals, preferably in BFSI.

• Proven ability to drive team performance, influence senior stakeholders, and secure long-term partnerships.

• Experienced in leading within a matrix environment and collaborating across global or multi-functional teams.

• Charismatic communicator with strong presentation, interpersonal and negotiation skills.

• Proactive, strategic thinker with a strong execution mindset and results-oriented approach.
