UI/UX Designer

Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled UX/UI Designer to join our dynamic product development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating engaging, user-centred digital experiences across various platforms. This role involves collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to translate complex requirements into intuitive and aesthetically pleasing designs. A strong understanding of front-end development, data visualisation, and user research is essential to deliver innovative solutions that meet business objectives and enhance usability. The successful applicant will utilise a broad range of design tools and methodologies to craft seamless user interfaces and optimise user experience.

Duties

• Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visual designs using tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, InVision, and Adobe Creative Suite
• Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights and inform design decisions
• Collaborate with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to define project requirements and translate them into compelling visual concepts
• Create responsive web designs that function effectively across various devices using HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, SCSS, Less (style sheet language), and other front-end technologies
• Implement data visualisation techniques to present complex information clearly using JavaScript libraries like D3.js or similar tools
• Apply interaction design principles and design patterns to enhance user engagement and accessibility
• Conduct information architecture analysis to optimise content organisation and navigation structures
• Participate in the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) process including requirements gathering, user acceptance testing, and iterative improvements
• Utilise APIs for integrating third-party services or data sources into the user interface
• Maintain consistency with branding guidelines and ensure adherence to usability standards

Experience

• Proven experience in UX/UI design with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in digital design, web design, and interaction design
• Proficiency in front-end development technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Angular, Redux, and WordPress
• Familiarity with design tools including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Balsamiq, Zeplin, Sketch, Axure, Telerik, InVision, Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe After Effects, SharePoint, Unity or Unreal Engine is advantageous
• Knowledge of data analysis skills using SQL or Google Analytics to inform design decisions based on user behaviour data
• Experience conducting user research and analysis using tools like Qualtrics or Omniture
• Understanding of APIs integration and familiarity with cloud services such as AWS is desirable
• Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret business requirements into effective UX/UI solutions
• Ability to work collaboratively within Agile teams using Jira or similar project management tools
