Job Description

Travel Sales Executive

As a Travel Sales Executive, you will be responsible for handling both inbound and outbound sales, maintaining client databases, coordinating with vendors and suppliers, and ensuring smooth execution of tours. You will act as the face of the company—representing its values, reliability, and expertise in the tourism sector.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales and Business Development

  • Promote domestic and international tour packages, pilgrimage tours (like Adi Kailash, Kailash Mansarovar Yatra), adventure trips, and customized travel itineraries to potential clients.
  • Generate leads through calls, emails, social media, and walk-in customers.
  • Follow up with potential clients to convert inquiries into confirmed bookings.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with individual travelers, corporate clients, and travel partners.
  • Achieve monthly and annual sales targets set by the management.
  • Upsell and cross-sell additional travel services such as hotel upgrades, transportation, travel insurance, and sightseeing add-ons.

2. Customer Handling and Consultation

  • Understand client requirements such as travel dates, budget, preferences, and special needs.
  • Provide destination-specific advice including climate, sightseeing options, visa requirements, and travel guidelines.
  • Create personalized travel itineraries ensuring comfort, cost-effectiveness, and unique experiences.
  • Deliver prompt and professional responses to all customer queries and complaints.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by providing accurate information, quality service, and timely support before, during, and after the trip.

3. Coordination and Operations Support

  • Coordinate with hotels, transporters, guides, and other service providers to confirm bookings and ensure smooth operations.
  • Prepare and verify travel documents such as itineraries, invoices, vouchers, and tickets.
  • Collaborate with operations and marketing teams to deliver the best client experience.
  • Monitor tour performance and handle any issues that may arise during client travel.
  • Ensure that every trip runs as per schedule and quality standards.

4. Marketing and Promotion

  • Participate in promotional activities such as travel fairs, exhibitions, and local marketing campaigns.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to promote travel packages through digital platforms, social media, and email campaigns.
  • Keep up with travel trends, competitor pricing, and seasonal offers to recommend improvements in sales strategy.
  • Suggest promotional offers or discounts to attract new customers and retain existing ones.

5. Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of customer inquiries, bookings, and payments.
  • Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and performance analysis for management review.
  • Track and update client databases, ensuring confidentiality and data accuracy.
  • Ensure proper documentation for tours involving restricted or international regions, such as Inner Line Permits (ILP) or visa applications.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Sales & Negotiation Skills:

    Ability to persuade clients, handle objections, and close deals effectively.
  • Excellent Communication:

    Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Hindi; knowledge of regional languages is an advantage.
  • Customer Service Orientation:

    A genuine passion for helping travelers and providing exceptional service.
  • Destination Knowledge:

    In-depth understanding of popular destinations such as Adi Kailash, Om Parvat, Char Dham, Spiti Valley, Rajasthan, Kashmir, Nepal, and Bhutan.
  • Computer Proficiency:

    Familiarity with MS Office, CRM systems, online booking portals, and digital communication tools.
  • Organizational Skills:

    Ability to handle multiple clients, manage time efficiently, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Teamwork:

    Ability to work collaboratively with operations, accounts, and marketing teams.
  • Adaptability:

    Capacity to handle dynamic travel trends, urgent client requests, and unexpected travel disruptions.

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in

    Travel & Tourism, Hospitality Management, Business Administration

    , or any related field.
  • Certification or diploma in tourism management, ticketing, or sales will be an added advantage.

Experience Required

  • 0 to 3 years

    of experience in the travel industry (freshers with strong communication and sales aptitude may also apply).
  • Prior experience in a travel agency, tour operator, or hospitality sales is highly desirable.
  • Experience handling pilgrimage tours, adventure expeditions, or customized international tours will be a plus.
