Test Engineer

Role Overview

As a Test Engineer, you will be responsible for building and evolving test frameworks, designing robust testing strategies, and ensuring the overall quality of our software releases. This role requires strong technical expertise, analytical thinking, and a proactive approach to identifying and solving quality challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and enhance existing test frameworks to increase throughput, accessibility, and flexibility in test execution.
• Participate in the design, development, integration testing, and release of web applications, mobile applications, and APIs.
• Identify use cases, define test strategies, and develop detailed test cases to validate software design and functionality.
• Define and implement metrics to measure test effectiveness, efficiency, and product quality.
• Analyze test logs, create test reports, and perform root cause analysis for production issues.
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve systems, tools, and processes across the development lifecycle.
• Log, document, and track bugs through resolution using Azure DevOps.
• Interpret and communicate testing results clearly to stakeholders, acting as a strong advocate for product quality.
• Collaborate with Software Engineers to understand system architecture and feature implementation details.
• Develop and execute a testing roadmap, focusing on automation strategies to improve System Integration Testing (SIT) and Functional Testing, reducing regression testing cycles.
• Research emerging technologies and testing best practices; share knowledge and mentor team members.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 4–5 years of experience in software testing, QA engineering, or systems analysis.
• Strong understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
• Proven ability to coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Hands-on experience in building regression testing frameworks using modern tools and technologies.
• Proficiency in QA methodologies, test case design, and defect tracking tools (preferably Azure DevOps).
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) for reporting and documentation.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong ability to summarize and present test results and progress to management.

Nice to Have

• Experience in test automation tools
• Familiarity with API testing frameworks and performance testing tools.
• Exposure to DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud environments such as Azure.
• Experience testing fintech or payment systems.
