Job Description

Primary title:

Software QA Engineer (Test Engineer)

Industry & Sector:

Global software engineering & cloud-native product development — delivering SaaS and platform solutions across B2B and enterprise verticals. This is a fully remote role based in India supporting distributed engineering teams and continuous delivery pipelines.Role & Responsibilities
  • Design, implement and maintain robust test suites (automation + manual) for web, API and microservice-based applications to ensure high-quality releases.
  • Author clear, reusable automated tests using Selenium/Playwright/Cypress and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/GitHub Actions/GitLab CI).
  • Execute functional, regression, integration and smoke test cycles; triage, reproduce and drive timely resolution of defects with engineering teams.
  • Build and run API test harnesses (Postman/REST-assured) and validate data integrity with SQL/NoSQL checks and contract testing where applicable.
  • Collaborate with Product, SRE and Developers to define acceptance criteria, create test plans, and shift testing-left to catch issues earlier.
  • Produce concise test reports, maintain test documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and automation coverage.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

  • 3+ years hands-on experience in software testing with a strong focus on automation for web and API testing.
  • Proficiency in one or more languages: Python, Java or JavaScript/TypeScript and experience with test frameworks (pytest, JUnit, Mocha).
  • Practical experience with automation tools (Selenium, Playwright or Cypress) and API testing tools (Postman/REST-assured).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/GitHub Actions/GitLab) and Git-based workflows; solid understanding of test integration into pipelines.

Preferred

  • Experience with BDD (Cucumber), performance testing (JMeter/Locust) and cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP).
  • Exposure to containerised environments (Docker, Kubernetes), observability tooling and modern Agile/DevOps practices.
