.The Ford Credit Tech team in India is looking fo r an SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test), who will be a key driver of our test automation strategy, focusing on the design, development, and maintenance of our automated testing infrastructure. This person will leverage their expertise in Java and Selenium to build and enhance our testing frameworks, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and adaptable to our evolving needs.

Responsibilities

Framework Development and Enhancement:

Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable test automation frameworks using Java and TypeScript. This includes creating reusable components, implementing best practices, and ensuring the frameworks' maintainability and extensibility.

Test Case Automation:

Develop and execute automated test cases covering various aspects of our applications, including functional, regression, and integration testing.

CI/CD Integration:

Integrate automated tests into our continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline. Support development teams to improve their automation coverage across their application stack.

Test Data Management:

Support the design and implementation of strategies for managing and provisioning test data effectively and efficiently across the testing frameworks.

Performance Optimization:

Continuously monitor and optimize the performance of automated tests to ensure fast and reliable execution.

Troubleshooting and Debugging:

Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to automated tests, providing timely solutions to ensure continuous testing effectiveness.

Reporting and Analysis:

Generate comprehensive test reports, analysing results to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software testing, with at least 5 years focused on test automation using Java, TypeScript, Selenium, Playwright, Rest Assured.
• Solid Java hands-on experience (collections, streams, REST clients, Maven/Gradle)
• Solid TypeScript/JavaScript (ES6+, node-based test tools)
• Experience writing SQL queries and generating synthetic data sets
• Comfort with Git workflows and any CI server.
• Strong grasp of testing fundamentals, including equivalence partitioning, boundary analysis, and negative testing
• Exposure to contract testing (Pact), performance tools (k6/JMeter), or security scans (OWASP ZAP).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience in testing Web Services, Web UI and APIs
• Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-level test automation frameworks in a regulated environment.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Understanding of relevant data privacy and security regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience in BDD Frameworks
• Experience with cloud platforms (Google Cloud) and CI/CD tools (Cloud Build)
