Job Description

Job Title: District Sales ManagerDepartment: Sales & Marketing Location: [Insert District/Region] Reports To: Area Sales Manager / Regional Sales Officer (RSO) Head / Unit Head Industry: Cement / Building Materials / FMCG Purpose of the PositionTo plan and monitor district-level sales performance, ensuring adherence to the company’s credit policy, maximizing sales and collections, and promoting thrust brand visibility. To ensure effective customer service, oversee warehouse operations, monitor pricing, develop retail networks, and engage with end customers and influencers through strategic sales promotion activities. Key StakeholdersIndividual Home Builders (IHBs) Contractors Dealer Network Carrying & Forwarding (C&F) Agents Key Responsibilities / DeliverablesAchieve volume targets with a focus on targeted EBITDA Generate market insights and competitive intelligence for strategic planning Drive new demand generation activities within the district Appoint and develop new dealers to strengthen the distribution network Monitor and fix dealer-wise credit limits, and periodically review with senior leadership Ensure timely supply of cement to dealers and customers Track and manage wholesale and retail pricing of dealers Maintain price premium positioning in the market Promote cost-effective supply linkages wherever applicable Facilitate reconciliation of outstanding dues and obtain balance confirmations from dealers Compile and analyze competitor data and market trends Oversee warehouse operations for stock accuracy and efficiency Evaluate market representation to identify gaps or opportunities Promote thrust brand through local branding and marketing initiatives Conduct regular market visits and reporting to Branch Office / RMO Implement cost control measures and optimize TDC (Total Delivered Cost) Coordinate with C&F agents and channel partners for seamless operations Expand the retail network and maintain strong relationships with end customers Desired Candidate ProfileEducation: Graduate in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred) Experience: 3–6 years of experience in district sales management, preferably in cement, construction, FMCG, or building materials industry Skills & Competencies: Strong sales planning and execution Dealer & channel partner management Analytical and market intelligence skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Proficient in MS Office and CRM tools Customer service orientation and team leadership
