Role Summary

The Tendering & Costing Engineer will be responsible for preparing techno-commercial proposals, costing, BOQs, and bid submissions for rooftop and ground-mounted solar EPC projects. The role requires strong understanding of solar engineering, vendor pricing, site assessment, and tender documentation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Tendering & Proposal Preparation

·      Prepare pre-bid queries, deviations, compliance statements.

·      Coordinate with internal design, procurement, and project teams for inputs.

·      Prepare complete techno-commercial bid submissions within deadlines.

2. Cost Estimation & BOQ

·

·      Develop detailed BOQ including modules, inverters, structures, BOS, cabling, AC/DC works, civil works, SCADA, etc.

·      Create cost benchmarks and maintain updated cost database.

3. Vendor & Supplier Coordination

·

·      Evaluate vendor offers technically and commercially.

·      Identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative materials.

4. Site Assessment & Technical Understanding

·

·      Understand site layout, load analysis, shading, structure feasibility, and preliminary design requirements.

·      Support design team with preliminary layouts and engineering calculations when needed.

5. Commercial & Financial Analysis

·

·      Support senior management in price finalization.

·      Compare competitor pricing and market trends.

6. Documentation & Compliance

·

·      Maintain repository of past tenders, costing references, and templates.

7. Skills & Competencies Required

·

·      Proficiency in MS Excel, costing tools, and BOQ preparation.

·      Understanding of AutoCAD / PVsyst (preferred).

·      Good commercial acumen and negotiation ability.

·      Strong analytical and documentation skills.

·      Ability to work under tight deadlines.

8. Qualification

• B.Tech. / B.E. – Electrical Engineering (Preferred).
• Experience in solar industry preferred; EPC/project experience highly valued.

9. Preferred Background

·

·      Exposure to DISCOM norms, safety standards, and tender portals (GeM, SECI, NTPC, State Nodal Agencies).
