Technology Lead – Capital Markets Technology

We are seeking a Technology Lead with 15–20 years of capital markets technology experience to lead and manage a team of software engineers supporting mission-critical trading and post-trade platforms. This role requires deep functional knowledge across Swap Dealer operations, Derivatives, FX Trading, and FX Currency Deposit Accounts, combined with a strong core engineering background.

The Technology Lead will be responsible for solution design, development oversight, production stability, and strategic modernization, while serving as a key technology partner to front-office, operations, risk, and compliance stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Technology Leadership & Team Management

• Lead and manage a team of software engineers across development, enhancements, and production support
• Provide technical direction, code review oversight, and mentoring to ensure high engineering standards
• Own delivery commitments, sprint planning, and execution across multiple workstreams

Solution Design & Architecture

• Lead end-to-end solution design for capital markets platforms and integrations
• Translate complex business requirements into scalable, resilient technical solutions
• Drive modernization initiatives while ensuring stability of legacy systems

Development & Engineering Oversight

• Maintain hands-on oversight of core engineering (Java / backend / integrations)
• Guide API design, data models, and system integrations across trading and operations platforms
• Ensure adherence to best practices around performance, security, and scalability

Production Support & Stability

• Own L2/L3 production support for trading and post-trade systems
• Lead incident management, root-cause analysis, and remediation for high-severity issues
• Ensure platform availability for time-sensitive and high-volume trading environments

Stakeholder & Business Partnership

• Partner with Front Office, Trading, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Product teams
• Support regulatory and audit initiatives affecting capital markets technology
• Act as a senior technology point of contact for internal and external stakeholders

Required Functional Domain Expertise

• Deep working knowledge across:
• Swap Dealer platforms and workflows
• Derivatives trading and lifecycle management
• FX Trading (Spot, Forwards, Swaps)
• FX Currency Deposit Accounts
• Trade capture, confirmations, settlements, P&L, and reconciliations
• Regulatory and risk considerations in capital markets environments

Core Technical Skills

• Strong core engineering background (Java preferred)
• Experience leading enterprise-scale trading and post-trade systems
• API & system integrations (REST/SOAP, messaging, middleware)
• Strong understanding of data models and real-time processing
• Experience managing both legacy platforms and modern architectures
• Familiarity with cloud, CI/CD, and DevOps concepts (preferred)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 15–20 years of experience in Capital Markets Technology
• Proven experience leading engineering teams in a banking or dealer environment
• Strong communication and leadership skills with technical and non-technical audiences
