At GKM IT, we are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer - Senior II to join our team. The ideal candidate will create clear, user-friendly documentation that supports our technology products and enhances user experience. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver content that is accurate, accessible, and aligned with product goals.
Bring 7–8+ years’ experience in technical writing/content development for software, covering multiple documentation types.
Lead creation, maintenance, and improvement of diverse technical content: user guides, installation/deployment manuals, API & SDK references, release/migration notes, troubleshooting guides, and architectural overviews.
Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Own documentation strategy, structure, style, and standards for key product/platform areas in partnership with engineering, product, UX, support, and QA.
Mentor and review work of junior/mid-level writers; ensure consistency in tone, formatting, modular reuse, style, and usability.
Establish and enforce best practices: content versioning, modular/structured authoring, single sourcing, and localization/internationalization.
Lead cross-functional reviews, gather stakeholder input, validate accuracy, and align documentation with product updates.
Oversee content publication across developer portals, knowledge bases, wikis, in-app help, onboarding, and training materials.
Improve documentation processes, tools, and infrastructure: select/enhance authoring tools (Swagger/OpenAPI, Postman, Markdown/DITA/XML), version control (Git), and content management systems.
Monitor documentation quality and user-feedback metrics; identify gaps and refine content experience.
Participate in agile cycles: sprint planning, backlog grooming, effort estimation, and prioritization of documentation tasks.
Proven ability to work independently and own documentation end-to-end for complex software products.
Strong written and verbal English communication; adaptable tone/style for varied audiences.
Deep API documentation expertise: REST/SOAP/GraphQL, SDKs, sample code, and related tools.
Proficiency with authoring tools (Markdown, DocBook/DITA/XML), version control (Git), CMS/wikis/Confluence, and Google Docs.
Solid understanding of SDLC, agile methodologies, and tools like JIRA for task/change management.
Skilled at estimating scope, managing schedules, and balancing multiple priorities under deadlines.
Attention to detail with a focus on clarity, correctness, and usability.
Leadership/mentoring experience with process improvement initiatives.
Stays current with evolving tech stacks, documentation tools, AI/ML for content, automation, interactive/multimedia documentation, VR/AR, and structured authoring trends.
Ability to evaluate and recommend new tools or approaches to enhance documentation quality, efficiency, and user experience.
