What will you do?
We're looking for a Technical Project Manager to lead internal product development initiatives at Rocketlane. You'll be the connective layer between engineering, product, design, QA, and security teams - ensuring seamless coordination, timely delivery, and continuous process improvement. You'll be an engineer's trusted partner in driving projects from concept to production.
This is a high-impact role where you'll own the entire project lifecycle, orchestrate cross-functional alignment, and be the go-to person for surfacing blockers, improving processes, and ensuring we ship great features on time.
What You'll Do
Project Orchestration & Execution
Lead end-to-end execution of internal product development projects across design, implementation, testing, and release phases
Own project timelines, dependencies, and risk management using Rocketlane as your command center along with AI tools
Coordinate cross-functional teams of 8-10 people, including engineers, designers, QA, product managers, and security specialists
Break down complex features into executable sprints and ensure smooth handoffs between teams
Proactively identify and resolve blockers, escalating when necessary to keep projects on track
Team Alignment & Communication
Serve as the single point of contact for project status, decisions, and escalations
Run effective stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives that drive accountability and continuous improvement
Translate technical complexity into clear updates for leadership and stakeholders
Ensure all team members have clarity on priorities, timelines, and expectations
Foster a culture of transparency and collaboration across teams
Process Improvement & Team Health
Conduct regular 1:1 meetings with squad members to understand pain points, surface complaints, and gather feedback
Identify process bottlenecks and drive improvements to increase velocity and quality
Champion best practices for project management, documentation, and team collaboration
Own post-mortems for major releases and drive implementation of lessons learned
Build and refine internal frameworks that scale with the team's growth
Escalation & Risk Management
Act as the primary escalation point for project-related issues and conflicts
Anticipate risks before they become problems and develop mitigation strategies
Make tough trade-off decisions when scope, timeline, or quality are at odds
Ensure critical issues get the right attention and resources at the right time
You should apply if
5-8 years of experience in technical project management, program management, or similar roles
Strong technical acumen with the ability to understand system architecture, technical dependencies, and engineering trade-offs
Proven track record of successfully delivering complex, cross-functional projects on time
Experience coordinating teams where you influence without direct authority
Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
Outstanding communication skills—you can translate between technical and non-technical audiences with ease
Ability to thrive in ambiguity and adapt quickly to changing priorities
Strong facilitation skills for running effective meetings and driving decisions
Data-driven mindset with the ability to track metrics and drive accountability
Nice to Have
Experience working at fast-paced startups or high-growth companies
Familiarity with short sprint cycles and frequent deployment practices
Experience with continuous delivery and DevOps workflows
Background in software engineering or technical roles
Exposure to SaaS product development
Certifications in Agile, Scrum, or project management methodologies
