About the Role

Technical Lead

In this role, you will lead a team responsible for reaching out to US police departments for case-related data and ensure the seamless integration of collected data into our content pipeline. You will be the point of contact between the operations, technical, and creative teams—ensuring smooth workflows, high-quality deliverables, and timely project execution.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Coordination

  • Lead and mentor the FOIA/Outreach team, setting clear goals and ensuring consistent performance.
  • Oversee coordination between data acquisition, research, and content production teams.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to track progress, resolve bottlenecks, and improve processes.

Technical & Operational Management

  • Implement and manage CRM tools, project tracking systems, and workflow automation for FOIA requests.
  • Ensure accurate documentation, file management, and database updates.
  • Monitor technical compliance in data handling and security protocols.

FOIA & Communication Process

  • Guide the team in drafting professional, legally compliant FOIA requests and follow-ups.
  • Ensure timely communication with US police departments and other agencies.
  • Review and validate collected data for accuracy, completeness, and usability.

Process Improvement & Reporting

  • Analyze operational data to improve efficiency and turnaround times.
  • Generate periodic performance and progress reports for management.
  • Research and implement best practices in FOIA data acquisition and digital media operations.

Requirements

  • B.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field

    .
  • 2–4 years of experience in project coordination, technical operations, or content acquisition.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing small to mid-sized teams.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools, Google Workspace, and Excel (advanced functions preferred).
  • Understanding of workflow automation, data security, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interest in true crime, documentaries, or investigative content is a plus.
