Role Description -

This is a full-time on-site role for a Team Lead – SoM Design will be responsible for the end-to-end design of System-on-Modules (SoMs), ensuring robust hardware design with strong emphasis on manufacturability, reliability, and compliance with standards. The role requires hands-on expertise in schematic design, PCB layout review, high-speed interface integration, and cross-functional coordination with production and testing teams.

Key Skills -

  • Strong knowledge of processor-based SoM design and embedded hardware.
  • Hands-on experience with schematic design and PCB layout review (Altium, Cadence, Mentor, or similar tools).
  • Good understanding of high-speed design practices and signal integrity analysis.
  • Familiarity with DFM/DFA practices, SMT processes, and PCB manufacturing constraints.
  • Problem-solving skills for debugging hardware and production issues.
  • Ability to work independently while guiding a small design team if required.

Responsibilities -

1.

  1. Lead schematic capture and design of SoMs based on ARM, RISC-V, or similar processors.
  2. Work on high-speed interfaces (DDR, PCIe, USB, Ethernet, MIPI, LVDS).
  3. Optimize power management and signal integrity in designs.

  1. Incorporate DFM and DFA guidelines into all SoM designs.
  2. Review stack-up, component selection, and PCB layout for manufacturability.
  3. Collaborate with PCB fabricators and assembly vendors to validate design readiness.

3.

  1. Support prototype bring-up, debugging, and validation.
  2. Work with QA to ensure compliance with ISO/IRIS/industry standards.
  3. Resolve field or production-level design issues.

4.

  1. Prepare design documentation, BoMs, and release packages.
  2. Maintain version control and engineering change records.

5.

  1. Work closely with firmware/software teams for design bring-up.
  2. Interface with mechanical and production engineers to ensure alignment.
