Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Furniture Production Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the production of high-quality furniture items, meeting production targets on time, and managing a team of skilled production staff. This role requires a strong understanding of furniture manufacturing processes, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.

​Key Responsibilities

​Production & Quality Management:

​Supervise and manage all daily activities on the production floor, ensuring adherence to the production schedule and quality standards.

​Monitor and adjust workflow to meet production targets, minimize downtime, and optimize resource utilization.

​Inspect finished goods and in-process materials to ensure they meet company specifications and quality control benchmarks.

​Troubleshoot production issues, including machinery malfunctions, material shortages, and process deviations, implementing corrective actions swiftly.

​Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste (lean manufacturing principles), and improve product quality.

​Team Leadership & Management:

​Directly supervise a team of furniture builders, assemblers, machine operators, and other production personnel.

​Conduct training for new and existing staff on proper manufacturing techniques, machinery operation, safety procedures, and quality standards.

​Perform regular performance evaluations for team members and provide coaching, mentorship, and disciplinary action as needed.

​Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that emphasizes teamwork, accountability, and professional development.

​Safety & Compliance:

​Enforce all company safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

​Conduct regular safety inspections of equipment and work areas, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

​Ensure proper use and maintenance of all production machinery, tools, and personal protective equipment (PPE).

​Document and investigate all workplace incidents and near-misses, implementing preventative measures.

​Inventory & Reporting:

​Coordinate with the inventory/procurement team to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.

​Maintain accurate production records and submit daily/weekly reports on output, quality metrics, efficiency, and resource utilization to the Production Manager.

​Qualifications and Skills

​Required:

​Proven experience (3+ years) in a supervisory or leadership role within a furniture manufacturing or woodworking environment.

​In-depth knowledge of furniture production processes, materials (e.g., wood, veneers, hardware, finishes), and machinery (e.g., CNC routers, edge banders, panel saws).

​Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate, develop, and manage a diverse team.

​Excellent problem-solving abilities and mechanical aptitude.

​Solid understanding of quality control procedures and safety standards (OSHA compliance).

​Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel) for reporting and scheduling.

​High School Diploma or equivalent.

​Preferred:

​Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field.

​Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.

​Bilingual (if applicable to the local workforce).

​Work Environment

​This is a full-time position, typically requiring 40+ hours per week, with potential for overtime based on production demands.

​The role is based on the manufacturing floor and requires standing, walking, and occasional lifting of heavy materials.

​Exposure to noise, dust, and wood finishes is part of the regular environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
