Job Description

Please note that this is not an HR position and is solely focused on project-specific staffing requirements, empanelment of experts and approaching recruitment more strategically.


EHI International seeks an experienced Strategic Outreach specialist to lead and execute talent sourcing and recruiting responsibilities.


EHI is a consultancy firm specialising in healthcare and development sector projects across India. For over 25 years, we have been working on various initiatives related to research, policy development, programme design, health systems planning and management, healthcare services monitoring and large-scale evaluation surveys. We work with state government departments and international agencies such as the World Bank, UNDP, GIZ, EC, KfW, UNICEF, JICA, etc.


This organisational priority is driven by increased growth and demand from expanding sectoral programmes and in anticipation of new business.


Key Responsibilities


  • Recruitment Strategy Development:

    Serve as a key resource in enhancing EHI's capabilities in the continuous process of strengthening our network of Public Health Experts & Social Sector specialists to support the development projects in India, and identify, engage and onboard experts for consulting projects from multiple social sector fields.
  • This role involves managing internal and external communication channels, creating compelling content, and supporting the organisation's branding and marketing efforts.


The ideal candidate would have a verified network of national contacts that can support a pipeline of qualified candidates across sectors and geographies, and most importantly, build EHI recruiting processes and capacity to scale and meet the growing demand of skilled experts for upcoming projects.


  • Talent Pipeline Development

    : Proactively build and maintain talent pipelines and networks of potential candidates to facilitate effective passive recruitment and assess candidates for future recruitment needs. Think of this as a continuous talent-hunting/ expert sourcing process. Candidates with Expert Knowledge of the LinkedIn Recruiter platform will be preferred.


  • Candidate Attraction & Advertising

    : Utilise traditional and non-traditional resources to identify and attract top candidates, developing advertising programs to gain high visibility with potential candidates.


Collaborate closely with the core team to develop comprehensive short and long-term expert recruitment strategies aligned with project requirements and sectoral priorities.


  • Brand Representation & Networking

    : Attend and represent EHI at exhibits, meetings, and recruitment events to enhance brand awareness and attract highly qualified individuals to our active positions and the talent bench.


Must-have Qualifications


  • Master's Degree in Public Health, Development Studies, Social Work, Communication, Human Resources or related fields
  • Minimum of five (5) years of talent sourcing and recruitment expertise, with at least three (3) years in development sector-specific roles.
  • Proven success in devising robust sourcing, recruiting strategies and data reporting techniques to identify opportunities for enhanced success.
  • Prior experience in identifying, negotiating with and recruiting experts for development projects in India
  • Demonstrated track record of effectively filling challenging positions with stringent requirements.
  • Thorough understanding of the development sector landscape and the ability to source and hire candidates within short timeframes.
  • Strong history of client engagement, relationship building, and delivering high-quality service within a collaborative team environment.
  • Proficient critical thinker capable of identifying issues, seizing opportunities, offering solutions, and achieving consensus with multiple stakeholders
  • Possesses cross-cultural sensitivity and the ability to collaborate with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Exhibits the ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
  • Maintains professionalism, calmness, flexibility, resilience, a solution-oriented mindset, and creativity in challenging situations.
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment and meeting urgent deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective collaboration within a team environment.
  • Advanced user of the LinkedIn platform.
