Job Description

Role Description


1. Material Receipt & Verification

Receive all incoming raw materials, components, consumables, and spares.

Verify materials against Purchase Orders and delivery challans.

Ensure quality and quantity checks in coordination with QC and Purchase teams.

Tag materials with identification labels and store them in defined locations.

2. Inventory Management

Maintain up-to-date inventory in ERP/manual registers.

Conduct daily/weekly/monthly stock audits and reconcile discrepancies.

Monitor stock levels and generate material requisition for replenishment.

Ensure FIFO (First-In-First-Out) and FEFO (First-Expiry-First-Out) practices.

3. Material Issuance

Issue materials to production as per approved Material Requisition Slips.

Record all material issues and returns accurately.

Support production and maintenance teams for timely material availability.

4. Dispatch & Outgoing Material

Coordinate for dispatch of finished goods or job work items.

Ensure proper packing, documentation (e.g., DC, Invoice, E-Way Bill), and vehicle coordination.

Maintain records for outward movement of materials.

5. Documentation & Reporting

Prepare GRNs, Issue Slips, Return Notes, and Stock Reports.

Maintain proper filing of all store-related documents.

Submit daily/weekly stock statements to the management.

6. Housekeeping, Safety & Compliance

Maintain cleanliness and organization in the store area.

Follow 5S and safety practices for material handling and storage.

Ensure compliance with company and audit requirements.

7. Coordination & Team Management

Supervise helpers, loaders, and store staff.

Coordinate with Purchase, Production, Accounts, and Quality departments for smooth workflow.

Attend daily production meetings for material planning and status updates.


Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of store & inventory management in a manufacturing environment.

Hands-on experience with ERP or inventory management software.

Excellent communication, planning, and documentation skills.

Understanding of material safety, storage norms, and 5S methodology.

Ability to handle pressure and meet production timelines.
