Job Description

Key Responsibilities Provisioning & Configuration :

  • Provision and allocate storage volumes (LUNs, shares, etc.)
  • Manage thin/thick provisioning, zoning, and masking (SAN)
  • Set up and manage file systems (NFS, SMB, iSCSI)
  • Perform RAID and storage controller configuration
  • Initial setup and firmware/OS upgrades for storage arrays (NetApp, Pure Storage, Dell EMC, Management & Monitoring :
  • Monitor IOPS, throughput, and latency
  • Analyze performance bottlenecks and perform tuning
  • Set up storage health alerts and monitor thresholds
  • Conduct capacity forecasting and Recovery & Data Protection :
  • Manage snapshots and integrate with backup tools (Commvault, Veeam, Rubrik)
  • Configure local and remote replication
  • Conduct restore testing and Migration & Integrity :
  • Migrate data between storage arrays or to the cloud
  • Perform LUN and volume migrations with minimal downtime
  • Conduct data validation and integrity Security :
  • Implement access controls and permissions
  • Manage encryption (data at rest and in transit)
  • Ensure secure multi-tenancy and compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, etc.

High Availability & Disaster Recovery

  • Set up replication and failover configurations
  • Plan and test DR strategies
  • Work with clustered storage systems and geo-redundancy & Archival Storage Management :
  • Implement data lifecycle policies (hot, warm, cold)
  • Configure archiving and retrieval systems
  • Integrate with object storage (S3, Azure & Cloud Storage Integration :
  • Integrate storage with VMware, Hyper-V, or Nutanix environments
  • Manage vSAN or HCI-based storage
  • Provision and manage cloud storage (AWS EBS, Azure & Incident Management :
  • Diagnose and resolve storage issues and hardware failures
  • Handle storage connectivity issues (SAN/NAS)
  • Analyze logs and provide escalation support as required

Requirements

  • Proven experience with enterprise storage systems such as NetApp, Pure Storage, Dell EMC, etc.
  • Strong understanding of SAN/NAS protocols, RAID configurations, and zoning/masking
  • Hands-on experience with backup and replication technologies
  • Familiarity with compliance and security best practices in data storage
  • Solid understanding of cloud and virtualization platforms
  • Excellent troubleshooting and incident resolution skills
  • Strong communication and documentation abilities

Education & Certification

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Certifications such as NetApp Certified, EMC Proven Professional, or similar are a plus
