Senior Design / Production & Execution Engineer – Pharma Process Equipment

B.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech – Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
Experience:
Minimum 5 – 8 years in design, production, and execution of stainless steel pharma process equipment.
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Design / Production & Execution Engineer to lead end-to-end design, manufacturing, and execution activities for pharmaceutical process equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in process equipment design, fabrication, testing, and commissioning, along with practical knowledge of ASME, cGMP, and engineering standards applicable to the pharma industry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design & Engineering
Prepare GA drawings, fabrication drawings, P&IDs, and equipment layout for:
Dryers (Fluid Bed Dryer, Tray Dryer, RVD, etc.)
CIP/SIP Systems and SS Skids
Pressure Vessels, Reactors & Agitators
Distillation Columns & Heat Exchangers
Storage Vessels, Receivers & Condensers
Perform design calculations for pressure vessels, jackets, heat transfer areas, agitator sizing, and nozzle loadings.
Ensure all designs comply with ASME, IS, TEMA, and cGMP standards.
Collaborate with clients and project teams for technical reviews and design approvals.
2. Production & Fabrication
Supervise and monitor fabrication activities on the shop floor to ensure dimensional accuracy, welding quality, and timely completion.
Coordinate with production teams for material planning, cutting, forming, and assembly of SS components.
Ensure adherence to QA/QC standards, surface finish requirements (mirror/electropolishing), and documentation.
Troubleshoot fabrication or design issues and provide technical solutions.
3. Project Execution & Installation
Plan and manage the execution schedule of equipment delivery and installation at client sites.
Coordinate with erection and commissioning teams for successful installation and validation.
Conduct FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) and SAT (Site Acceptance Test) with clients.
Maintain project documentation – design dossiers, test certificates, calibration records, and validation reports.
4. Cross-functional Collaboration
Work closely with sales, procurement, QA/QC, and service departments to ensure smooth execution.
Provide technical support to sales during proposal, costing, and techno-commercial discussions.
Assist R&D or product development teams in improving design performance and manufacturability.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of mechanical design, fabrication drawings, and process engineering.
Hands-on experience with SolidWorks / AutoCAD / PV Elite / TEMA / ASME Codes.
Good understanding of welding standards, materials (SS316L, SS304), and surface finishing.
Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects with strict deadlines.
