Sourcing Specialist (Recycling Industry - PET & other materials)

Job Description

We are seeking a results-oriented Sourcing specialist with over 4 years of experience in sourcing, supply chain, and operations within the waste management or plastics recycling industry. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of the PET market, a strong grasp of business development, and a proven ability to build and manage vendor and recycler partnerships. This role is critical to driving operational efficiency, material sourcing, and ensuring alignment with the company’s circular economy objectives. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Develop and manage sourcing pipelines for PET and other recyclable materials. 2. Build and nurture long-term partnerships with aggregators, vendors, and recycling partners. 3. Lead negotiations and ensure timely procurement aligned with quality and cost targets. 4. Coordinate with internal operations, sales, and logistics teams to ensure smooth end-to-end supply chain execution. 5. Monitor supplier performance, material quality, and resolve supply-related issues. 6. Identify new sourcing opportunities, especially in untapped or underdeveloped regions. 7. Contribute to the continuous improvement of sourcing and operational SOPs. 8. Provide market intelligence on PET pricing, supply trends, and competitor activity. 9. Support new business initiatives and pilots through agile sourcing strategies. 10. Maintain detailed records and ensure compliance with environmental and waste- handling regulations. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Experience working in the recycling, sustainability, or waste management sectors. 2. Familiarity with ERP, sourcing platforms, or operational tracking tools. 3. Demonstrated ability to scale supply chains in a start-up or high-growth environment.
