What makes the role meaty?

1. Supplier Identification & Onboarding

• Identify and onboard suppliers for red meat (goat, lamb), poultry (broiler, country chicken), and seafood (marine & freshwater).
• Evaluate supplier farms, processing facilities, and hygiene standards.
• Conduct field audits, infrastructure checks, and compliance assessments

2. Procurement & Daily Sourcing Operations

• Manage end-to-end procurement based on demand planning for all meat & seafood SKUs
• Ensure timely inward supply to processing centers
• Optimize procurement costs while maintaining Licious' quality standards
• Handle daily purchase orders, volume commitments, and supply schedules

3. Negotiation & Contract Management

• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, volume agreements, and long-term business partnerships
• Maintain transparent and mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers
• Manage seasonal price fluctuations and ensure competitive procurements

4. Quality & Compliance Coordination

• Ensure suppliers follow Licious’ strict protocols related to animal welfare, freshness, hygiene, and cold-chain management
• Work closely with QA teams for sampling, supplier audits, and process improvements
• Resolve any quality deviations or supply discrepancies

5. Market Intelligence & Risk Management

• Track daily market price movements, seasonal trends, and availability in red meat, poultry, and seafood.n
• Identify risks related to supply shortage, logistics disruptions, or disease outbreaks and prepare mitigation plans

6. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain updated supplier records, agreements, compliance documents, and certificates
• Provide periodic reports on procurement performance, savings, and supplier performance scores

We hope that you have

1. 2+years of experience in meat, poultry, or seafood sourcing, farm procurement, or fresh category supply roles.
2. Experience in FMCG, fresh food retail, meat processors, seafood exporters, or agri-supply chains is an added advantage.
3. Strong knowledge of meat & seafood category sourcing (red meat, poultry, marine & freshwater).
4. Vendor management, negotiation, and field-level sourcing experience
5. Understanding of quality parameters, grading, yield, and cold-chain logistics.
6. Good relationship-building and communication skills.
7. Willingness to travel frequently for farm visits, landing centers, mandis, and supplier audits.
8. Problem-solving mindset with strong execution capability.
9. Any graduation.
