Job Description

The L1 Solution Consultant plays a vital role in Extropy’s centralized support model by providing essential operational, documentation, configuration, and process monitoring services across all client pods. This role ensures consistent service delivery, promotes efficiency through standardized tasks, and creates a learning foundation for career growth within Extropy’s Professional Services organization.

Tasks

Key Responsibilities

Process Monitoring & Analysis


  • Perform Business Transaction (BT) monitoring and reporting.

  • Prepare and summarize monthly PIO insights for assigned clients.

  • Conduct routine system health checks and monitoring tasks to identify potential issues.

Documentation & Administrative Support


  • Maintain and update technical documentation and templates.

  • Create or update process documentation as changes occur.

  • Support knowledge transfer and onboarding activities.

  • Prepare basic project deliverables and reports for internal and client use.

Configuration & Testing Support


  • Execute basic Basware configuration tasks under guidance.

  • Assist in UAT (User Acceptance Testing) preparation and documentation.

  • Perform Smart PDF configuration or similar setup tasks in accordance with internal standards.

  • Conduct basic system setup and maintenance in alignment with best practices.

Training & Knowledge Management


  • Participate in and document internal and client training sessions.

  • Contribute to the creation of training materials and best practices.

  • Maintain and organize centralized knowledge repositories.

  • Support onboarding and mentoring of new L1 team members under the Team Lead’s direction.

Collaboration & Governance



  • Work collaboratively with Project Managers, Solution Architects/Consultants, and SMEs.



  • Ensure adherence to Extropy PS governance standards, including:


  • Time reporting


  • Task tracking and updates in Asana


  • Communication alignment with Pod members



  • Maintain high professional standards in communication, documentation, and accountability.


Requirements

Qualifications and Experience Requirements

Required Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, or related field (preferred).

  • 1–2 years of experience in professional services, system support, or SaaS environments.

  • Familiarity with P2P, Basware, or related automation/financial platforms a plus.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Effective written and verbal communication in English.

  • Proficiency with Asana, SharePoint, and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Technical Skills

· Basic understanding of Procure-to-Pay (P2P) workflows and AP processes.

· Ability to perform routine system monitoring, UAT preparation, and basic configuration tasks.

· Proficiency with documentation tools (e.g., Asana, SharePoint, PDF tools).

· Familiarity with data entry, basic troubleshooting, and following technical work instructions.

· Willingness and ability to learn different Source-to-pay or Order-to-Cash solutions, and configuration best practices.

Soft Skills

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

· Clear and professional communication, both written and verbal.

· Ability to follow structured processes while asking clarifying questions when needed.

· Strong time management, task ownership, and reliability in meeting deadlines.

· Collaborative, coachable, and open to feedback and continuous learning.

Education Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience) is preferred but not mandatory.

· Basware certifications (AP, P2P, or Network) are required within the first 3-6 months.

Work Arrangement

· Remote

· 9AM to 5 PM EST with flexibility working with global teams across multiple time zones.

Travel Requirements

· No travel is required.

· Compliance with Extropy PS process and documentation standards.

· Quality of configuration and testing support.

· Engagement in continuous learning and knowledge-sharing activities.

Progression Goal:


  • Develop foundational technical, analytical, and delivery skills to progress into an

    L2 Solution Consultant

    role within 18-24 months by demonstrating increasing independence in configuration tasks, system monitoring, documentation quality, and adherence to project governance.
