Solar Design Engineer

Experience Required: 3–4 Years (Solar PV Design Engineer)
Salary Range: ₹30,000 – ₹80,000 per monthBenefits: As per company policy

Key Responsibilities:

1. Feasibility & Site Surveys

• Visit rooftops across Hyderabad & Telangana, capture shade videos, structural data and load profiles.
• Deliver concise assessment reports with capacity, yield and pay-back estimates.
• 2.System Design & Engineering

• Draft PV layouts, SLDs, earthing and lightning drawings in AutoCAD / SketchUp.
• Run PVsyst / HelioScope simulations; size BOS and produce accurate BOMs.
• Optimise designs for on-grid, off-grid and hybrid (battery) solutions.
• 3. Pre-Sales & Proposal Support
• Convert survey data into techno-commercial proposals and ROI sheets.
• Join client calls to explain design choices, pay-back maths and compliance.

4. Project Execution & Quality

• Issue construction drawings, kick-off toolbox talks, supervise subcontractors.

• Conduct quality inspections, string tests, IV-curve and PR verification at commissioning.

• Compile as-built drawings, O&M manuals and hand-over packs.

5. O&M & Troubleshooting

• Diagnose performance alarms, recommend corrective actions, guide on-site crews.
• Refine preventive-maintenance check-lists and spare-parts strategy.

6. Process Improvement

• Help formalize design and QC SOPs as we scale from tens to hundreds of kilowatts per month.

Must-Have Skills & Tools

• 1 - 5 yrs hands-on experience designing & executing rooftop PV (25 kW 1 MW).

• Proficiency in PVsyst, AutoCAD and basic SketchUp; HelioScope / SolarGIS a plus.

• Strong grasp of switchgear, protection schemes and Indian/IEC standards.

• Able to size inverters, cables, SPD, earthing and lightning systems.

• Confident presenting ROI and technical decisions to owners & CFOs.

• Willing to travel across Hyderabad & neighboring districts (~30 % time).

• Degree/Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Renewable-Energy Engineering.
• Develop detailed solar PV system designs, layouts, and technical drawings using AutoCAD, PVsyst, SketchUp and similar tools.
• Conduct on-site assessments and perform energy yield calculations, shading analysis, and feasibility studies.
• Select optimal solar modules, inverters, mounting systems, and BOS components based on project requirements.
• Coordinate with sales, procurement, and project execution teams to ensure design accuracy and feasibility.
• Prepare technical documentation, proposals, and compliance reports.
• Ensure adherence to national and international standards, safety regulations, and client specifications.
• Provide technical support to site teams during installation and commissioning.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• B.Tech in Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy, or related field.
• 3–4 years of proven experience in solar PV system design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, MS Office, and related design tools.
• Strong knowledge of solar components, system sizing, and electrical layouts.
• Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and strong problem-solving skills.
