Role Summary

We are looking for a Software Engineering Intern to join our core engineering team in Bengaluru. In this role, you will work on our core backend codebase (Node.js) to build and enhance features for JcurveIQ’s AI-first research platform. You’ll collaborate closely with senior engineers to ship high-quality, well-tested code, and you’ll take ownership of modules from design to deployment with minimal supervision. This is an in-office role for a minimum of 3 months, ideal for candidates who want a hands-on startup experience in building cutting-edge fintech products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and improve backend features and APIs for the JcurveIQ platform, focusing on scalability and performance.
• Build new AI-driven features: implement and integrate functionalities (e.g. new document analysis capabilities, data ingestion pipelines) that enhance our research tools.
• Collaborate with senior engineers in code reviews, brainstorming solutions, and refining requirements to ensure we ship high-quality, robust code.
• Own the end-to-end delivery of modules or micro-services – from technical design and coding to unit testing and deployment.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues in the core codebase, with an eye toward continual improvement of the product.

• Strong CS fundamentals: Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and problem-solving techniques.
• Ability to learn quickly: Comfort picking up new languages, frameworks, or tools on the fly. (Today it might be Node.js; tomorrow it could be something entirely new!)
• AI-augmented coding mindset: You embrace smart tools like GitHub Copilot to code faster and smarter.
• Preferred experience: Familiarity with Node.js/JavaScript and backend development is a plus (but not a hard requirement – we care more about your ability to adapt and learn than your expertise in any one language).
• In-office collaboration: Willingness to work from our Bengaluru office and be part of an on-site team culture.
• Proactive communication: You aren’t afraid to ask questions or seek help after reasonable effort. You actively communicate blockers and share updates, ensuring the team’s efficiency and learning from others.
