Position Description
ParTech, Inc. is looking for a Software Engineer to join our Point-of-Sale (POS)/Web team. This role is a technical contributor position. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in software development and will join a collaborative, high-impact team.As a Software Engineer, you will play a key role in implementing new features that align with our product goals. You will work closely with fellow software engineers within an Agile Framework to develop iteratively, focusing on strong technical implementations for high-volume and highly available systems. You will work within a mission-critical platform that integrates with third-party POS systems. In addition to developing on this platform, you will be responsible for maintaining, fixing, debugging, refining, and improving our current platform. This role includes a rotation-call component. You will also work on our web offering, PixelPoint HQ, which includes an on-call element where each team member takes turns being available for AWS server issues.

What We’re Looking For
- 3 years to 5 years of software development experience with C# and .NET, Angular, JAVA.
- Hands-on knowledge of SQL and writing optimized queries with any relational database.
- Experience with Restful APIs is preferred.
- Experience with unit testing frameworks and practices of test-driven development is a plus.
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure is a plus.
- Excellent debugging skills with hands-on experience finding root cause.
- Self-starter who requires minimal supervision.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal), able to communicate with technical and non-technical people.
- Bachelor’s in computer science/engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity and comfort with agile software development principles and practices.

- Previous role in a software support capacity.
- Experience in the Restaurant or Retail POS space would be an asset.
- Analyze, design, and develop system enhancements.
- Propose architecture and design optimizations.
- Work with the development and testing teams to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery.
- Work as an individual, as well as within a team structure to deliver complex systems.
- Perform peer design and code reviews and provide feedback on areas that need improvement.
- Build out tools to support the team.
- On-call support on rotation.
- Participate in server maintenance and upgrades once a week as needed.
