Responsibilities
As a Member of Technical Staff on the Data plane team, you will:
- Design and develop major core components of Oracle’s Virtual Cloud Network.
- Be responsible for delivering high-speed packet processing architectures and other distributed systems that provide networking features such as TCP/UDP packet processing, access controls, metrics and monitoring dashboards.
- Participate in the entire software lifecycle – development, testing, CI and production operation
- Balance between product feature development and production operational concerns like writing run books, ops automation, structured logging, instrumentation for metrics and events
- Leverage plethora of internal tooling at OCI to develop, build, deploy and troubleshoot software
- Participate in on-call for the service
Qualifications
You are a programmer with networking experience. You value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and are excited to learn.Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters / PhD degree in Computer Science or related engineering fields
- 1+ years of experience with systems/application development
- Proficient with data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems.
- Software-based packet forwarding experience, Core packet processing (CPP)
- Familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architectures
- Familiarity with High Availability(HA), messaging, State replication
- Proficient at programming in C/C++, Python, GoLang, Solid understanding of Linux networking constructs
- Experience working with various Network Virtualisation technologies
- Excellent communication skills in written and verbal forms, and an ability to communicate complex technical issues to a range of technical and non-technical audiences (management, peers)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with packet processing libraries like dpdk
- Experience designing and developing for scale with regards to testing, reliability, security, and observability
- Experience with developing fault-tolerant systems
- Experience in Infrastructure-as-a-Service
