Shift Manager- Mechanical Maintenance

Job Summary:We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shift In-Charge – Mechanical Maintenance for module manufacturing plant, Jaipur to oversee the maintenance activities in a high-volume manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical systems, utilities, and preventive maintenance, with a proven track record in breakdown analysis, team supervision, and reliability improvement. Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage mechanical maintenance activities during the shift to ensure minimal downtime and optimum machine availability.Execute and monitor preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of critical equipment including furnaces, compressors, CNC machines, utility systems (DG sets, transformers, compressors), and mechanical plant systems.Perform root cause analysis (RCA), corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for repeated failures and implement long-term solutions.Maintain documentation for machine history, maintenance checklists, SOPs, and work instructions.Ensure adherence to MTTR/MTBF metrics and actively work towards continuous improvement in equipment reliability.Coordinate with production and utility teams to schedule maintenance without affecting production targets.Plan and manage spares inventory, local vendor coordination, and procurement of critical mechanical parts.Support audits (e.g., IATF) by maintaining required documents and compliance standards.Provide technical training and guidance to junior technicians and maintenance staff.Ensure adherence to safety procedures and Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) protocols during maintenance activities. Key Skills & Competencies:Strong hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance in a manufacturing or process plant.Sound knowledge of utility systems: 66 kV substation, DG sets, compressors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.Proficiency in preventive & breakdown maintenance, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, Root Cause Analysis, and audit preparation.Familiarity with PLC basics and interface with field instruments (added advantage).Strong leadership, planning, and team coordination skills.Knowledge of TPM, 5S, and lean manufacturing principles. Qualifications:B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.8+ years of relevant experience in machine maintenance, preferably in solar.
