Job Title:
Service Engineer
Position Overview:
As a Service Engineer at Zenergize, you will play a pivotal role in enabling the seamless deployment and uptime of Electric Vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across India. You will be responsible for installation, commissioning, preventive and corrective maintenance, and technical support for both AC and DC EV chargers.
This is a field-intensive role requiring hands-on technical expertise, customer interaction, and a strong commitment to service quality. You will work closely with the operations, CMS, and project teams to ensure our chargers are safe, reliable, and always ready to serve EV users.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation, commissioning & maintenance of EV chargers
Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and firmware updates
Coordination with CMS teams & other internal stakeholders
Prepare service logs and documentation
Ensure safety and uptime at charger locations
Ability to meet 12hr–24hr service SLAs
Installation & Setup
Carry out physical installation and mounting of AC & DC EV chargers.
Handle all electrical terminations from supply panel to charger input.
Ensure proper earthing, cable routing, and MCB/MCCB connections.
Commissioning
Power ON the charger and check voltage/current readings.
Configure parameters as per CMS/network instructions.
Verify communication with backend systems (OCPP, SIM config, etc.).
Preventive Maintenance
Perform scheduled maintenance checks (tightening, cleaning, firmware checks).
Inspect connectors, cables, fans, and internal components.
Log observations and proactively reporting.
Corrective Maintenance
Attend breakdown/service calls on-site support.
Diagnose issues using multimeter, test software, or required tools.
Replace faulty components or modules (e.g., fuses, PCB, relays, contactors, modules).
Documentation & Reporting
Submit installation/service reports with photos and checklist.
Record part usage, downtime, and work done accurately.
Maintain a tracker for issues identified, Resolution given with the SLAs & record faulty spare tracking and follow-ups with internal team.
Customer Interaction
Explain fault cause and resolution to site in-charge or customer.
Train site staff on charger usage and safety basics if required.
Compliance & Safety
Always follow PPE usage and lockout/tagout procedures.
Report unsafe practices or site conditions proactively.
Ensure chargers are installed and commissioned as per safety norms.
Key Requirements:
Education: Diploma / B.Tech / ITI in Electrical or Electronics.
Experience: 1–2 years of field service experience (EV sector preferred)
Familiarity with AC/DC/ charging systems (3.3kW–240kW)
Ability to travel locally and nearby locations
Basic tools and knowledge of safety procedures
SLA-Based Fault Closure with proper Documentation.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and customer management skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
