Role Overview

As an SEO Manager at Schbang, you will be responsible for driving impactful SEO strategies that align with client and brand objectives. You will lead SEO initiatives across e-commerce and non-e-commerce projects, ensuring adherence to industry-leading best practices, and delivering measurable business outcomes. This role demands strategic thinking, technical expertise, team leadership, and the ability to translate SEO impact into tangible business growth.


Key Responsibilities

On-Page SEO

  • Plan, implement, and monitor clients’ SERP performance.
  • Analyze, strategize, and prepare monthly website SEO strategies; present results to stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular SEO audits and ensure all platforms follow SEO best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve SEO issues in real time.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align website and content with brand strategy.
  • Enhance website user experience through SEO-driven improvements.
  • Develop and execute strategies to increase organic traffic and rankings.
  • Track, measure, and report SEO KPIs with a focus on business impact.
  • Oversee promotional campaigns with an SEO lens.
  • Manage P&L of the SEO department.

Off-Page SEO

  • Conduct link analysis of competitor brands.
  • Build and maintain a backlink acquisition pipeline with quality webmasters/authors.
  • Negotiate and secure collaborations with niche websites.
  • Maintain link trackers and anchor text profiles.

Technical SEO

  • Ensure websites are technically optimized for crawling, indexing, and ranking.
  • Collaborate with developers to implement structured data, site speed improvements, and event-based tracking.
  • Use advanced tools (GA, GSC, Screaming Frog, SEMrush, Ahrefs, etc.) for deep technical analysis.

Team & Client Management

  • Mentor and guide SEO executives and interns; ensure quality standards.
  • Provide clear client briefs and oversee timely execution by the delivery team.
  • Lead pitch deck creation and represent SEO in cross-functional presentations.
  • Conduct internal training sessions and knowledge-sharing workshops.
  • Foster positive team culture and resolve conflicts where needed.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Deliver at least

    2 case studies

    annually showcasing SEO impact on business results (max 1 per brand).
  • Secure at least

    4 LinkedIn/Instagram carousel features

    highlighting wins (max 2 per brand).
  • Participate in

    2+ external SEO/marketing awards

    annually.
  • Conduct

    4 internal training sessions

    per year.
  • Achieve and track

    annual business targets

    (new pitches, client retention, SEO revenue).


Experience & Skills Required

  • 4 to 6 years’ experience in SEO

    , with proven work on at least one e-commerce website.
  • Demonstrated success in managing SEO for multiple brands, pitches, and client portfolios.
  • Strong understanding of on-page, off-page, and technical SEO.
  • Proven record of bringing measurable business growth (e.g., if you have scaled SEO dept revenue by 7-15 lakh+ in a financial year.
  • Strong knowledge of topical authority, E-A-T strategies, and content-driven SEO.
  • Hands-on expertise in

    Google Analytics, GSC, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, SimilarWeb

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to mentor, train, and scale junior team members into senior roles.
  • Familiarity with web technologies (HTML5, website event tracking, structured data).
