Role Description

Senior Video Editor

What You’ll Own:

• Lead the post-production process for both short-form and long-form video content (Reels, Shorts, lectures, explainers).
• Edit video footage into polished final products using tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, etc.
• Design and animate motion graphics, infographics, intros/outros, and transitions that enhance viewer understanding and engagement.
• Ensure high standards in sound design, color grading, subtitles, and visual coherence aligned with SciAstra’s brand guidelines.
• Collaborate with content creators and producers to refine storylines, pacing, and messaging based on academic goals and platform best practices.
• Maintain a scalable editing workflow using templates, presets, and organized project structures for efficient delivery.
• Mentor and support junior editors, providing guidance and feedback to uphold creative quality.
• Stay updated on video trends, platform formats (YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn), and editing innovations to improve viewer retention and engagement.

Who You Are

• 1-2+ years of professional experience in video editing, ideally with an educational or digital content platform.
• Strong command of Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects) and/or DaVinci Resolve; familiarity with Final Cut Pro is a plus.
• Demonstrated expertise in visual storytelling, motion graphics, pacing, and audio-visual synchronization.
• Ability to translate complex academic concepts into clear, visually engaging narratives.
• A background in science from class 11th–12th is preferred to align with subject matter.
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude, capable of both taking direction and leading post-production initiatives.
• Familiarity with content performance metrics (e.g., retention, click-through rate) and a desire to iterate based on feedback.
