The Trading Connectivity team is an integral part of the Trading Systems team in D. E. Shaw that focuses on developing software required for interfacing with brokers and exchanges for order execution management. The team also creates solutions required to process real-time messages from third party trading platforms used by our traders. The solutions developed by this team are important to enable execution of orders desired by the trading system and keep our compliance rules aware of external trading by our traders. The Trading Connectivity team works with traders and quants from internal trading strategy groups to plan and execute projects to enable order execution with different brokers and exchanges. Our primary business objectives include the development and design of interfaces with brokers and exchanges, provide solutions to integrate with third party trading platforms, and enable electronic trading of new types of instruments supported by the trading system.
WHAT YOU'LL DO DAY-TO-DAY:
You will keep track of immediate production issues with our broker connections and resolve the problems by following up with brokers, systems and members of the trading connectivity team as needed. You will keep track of upcoming changes to our broker connections and handle configuration changes, UAT testing etc. required for such changes. You will set up new trading connections that mostly require configuration changes. You will handle user acceptance tests with brokers and new product certifications. You will interface with the Financial Operations (FinOps) team to handle their queries. You will work with FinOps to enable new account setups for trading. You will handle configuration changes to our locate setups. You will help data analytics team with production issues related to locate setups. In addition to this, you will drive long-term simplification of our trading connections by following up with brokers to use common standards across our connections.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
Basic qualifications:
- A Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA)/ Bachelor of Science (BSc) (Computer Science/IT)/ Bachelor of Engineering (B.E)/ Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree
- Around 2 years of IT experience in the role of application software support and L1/L2 operation services
- Good troubleshooting and debugging skills
- The ability to be flexible with working hours (open to work in either early morning or late-night shifts)
- Prior experience in a Linux environment, exposure to scripting and application support environment, along with familiarity with one of the programming languages like C/C++/Python/Java
- Excellent communication skills and ability to efficiently deal with multiple time-critical issues in an agile environment

- Prior exposure to financial domain
